for last week or two ive been having high blood pressure, and went last week to see my main dr. he gave me my pain meds back and my anxiety meds, well last nite, my bp was 200 over 100 or something like that, and arm was hurting, chest was hurting, I took one of my anxiety pills and finally calmed down I didn't take my bp again, but I wonder if I could take a nitro pill or if that would hurt my pacemaker or anything they haven't put me on bp meds yet..this morning bp was 170 over below one hundred again like 80 or 90 I think..i think its panic attacks myself..i have a cousin that does this also..and he has bp problems..i don't know what else to do but take the meds he gave me and wait till my next visit I don't have insurance..its $75 a visit..and im unemployed..my beloved seems to think if I sit down, and quit running round like a crazy person and checking it it wouldn't be that high..i have four people that depend on me and one is a dog..i don't know- whats your alls view on it?..you think its stress or what..what do I do call dr back?..when it gets too high? I don't know I cant afford to go to er and get a huge hospital bill for a panic attack..

Chest pain

Chest pain and pain in your arm sounds as if it is heart related. Who gave you the nitro pills? Do you have them because you have another heart problem? No they will not affect the pm. It does not sound like anxiety but that you are anxious due to the pain. Please get checked out as soon as possible. All chest pain should be investigated straight away. A high BP is also a worry and sounds as if it is connected to the pain. Please don't let this go on without attention, even if it costs. Let us know how you go.

Visit your cardio?

Yes, ER visits are usually very expensive. What about making a visit with your EP?
It could be anxiety, but if you have high BP and your arm and chest are hurting, you might want to visit to your cardiologist to make sure it isn't heart related. If you are that concerned, and if relaxing doesn't resolve the problem, call and ask (demand) that they find a slot to fit you in.
Even if you are unemployed and can't afford it, it seems like it might be worth $75.
A Nitro Should B OK
by SMITTY - 2013-10-28 12:10:53
Hello Inbaby2000
Your pacemaker will not care if you take a nitro. I have been taking nitro pills as needed all 13 years I have had a pacemaker without ever a blip on my PM.
A couple of things I notice sometimes when I take one. One, I get a headache for a short period (some people do not get these) after I take a nitro. Two, my heart rate slows down sometimes, but that that doesn't mater since my PM has the remedy for that. Three, my blood pressure may drop a few notches and since mine is l already a little low I do have to watch that.
So take your nitro and don't worry about it or if you have doubts about any advice you get here check with your dr.
Good luck,
Smitty
