Blake ~

Wanted to take time to say you've done a really nice job on the revamped Pacemaker Club home. I know some are grumbling a bit, but for me, it's great and well thought out. Far more user friendly. A few minor glitches that I'm sure you're working out but over-all great place. Thanks you for all the effort on everyone's behalf.

opinions on if I will need a pace maker

Hello all, I do not have a pacemaker. I will be under going  an eps study and the doctor will decide then if I need one. I need your all opinions about it. I have had  syncope 7 or 8 times. One of them I was riding a bicycle and just went down and  passed out blacked out etc.. After about 20 minutes I feel ok again but I am only blacked out for under a minute. EKG and Echo shows a little bradychardia and rbbb. Not real bad though. I passed the stress test. The echo sh...

Questions to ask; second opinion

Heading to Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion on installation of dual-chamber Medtronic (do not know model) that would also include an AV Node ablation to treat (really, will just hide) "complicated, persistent, permanent a-fib" with "no disease or blockages".  Does anyone have any offers on what to ask this unknown doc? They have had a month to review my medical documents and cd's of procedures. Thanks all.

Man says pacemaker saved him from bee attack

Local man was stung more than a thousand times by bees in north Phoenix and eventually lost consciousness. A Valley man says he likely would have died -- if it hadn't been for his pacemaker.

Mother hf 15 per cent

My mom has ICD/PM but for the pass 6 years and three attempts to replace one of the leads - there are still in the vein.  A total of 3 wires.  Her heart fraction has dropped from 55 last July to now 15.  She just came home from the hosiptal after three weeks of chf - and rehab.  To remove the leads are too risky.  There has been some talk about trying to connect the wire through another vein.  Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this?

Going back to work

Hi,

I just got my pacemaker on Tuesday June 7, 2016. I am glad to be alive but still adjusting to this new way of life.

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice about going back to work? Did you tell your workmates/boss? Did you have any issues?

I was in the process of looking for a new job before this event happened and am not sure how to approach my job search. I think it's personal unless it would affect my job in some way.

What do you think?

I was wondering if the plane will effect my Pacemaker? Also, I will only be gone for a week, do I have to take that monitor thing with Me?I have been feeling really good, but i wasn't sure! Thanks, Pastor Mike

ventricular tachycardia

Hi all:

Well, I've had my dual lead pacemaker for about 4 months now and I have been doing very well with it.  Did my first remote download about a week ago and apparently one episode of venricular tachycardia occured for about 2 seconds at around midnight a month or so ago.  I usually am up until about 1 a.m. every night and I felt nothing at all when the episode occurred.  No other episodes showed up either before or since and I have felt fine.  My...

Pacemaker Dependent

Does anyone know how many people or what percentage of people are pacing 100% of the time after pacemaker implant? It's been a year since I got  my pacemaker and I am now in A-Fib 100% of the time. What causes this and why did my A-Fib get worse after I got the pacemaker? Does that mean the ablation didn"t work?

New here!

Hi! My name is Haley and I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm currently 20 years old and I got my pacemaker when I was 17. I have a resting heart rate of 40. My slow heart rate was a result of my two open heart surgeries as a baby. I have a AV canal defect and coarctation. During these surgeries they somehow messed my heart beat up. For most of my life it didn't cause me issues, I just had the heart rate of an adult. Over the years it got slower and when I was 17 they decided a...

PM & Amiodarone

Female 53 yrs old. Got a PM Aug 15 due to AF.

After implant of the PM the AF continued and I tested a number of medication with no great success. December last year I ended up on Amiodarone (200MG) daily. As everyone know this medication has a lot of side effects. I am trying to find another solutions but I am not able due to my heart condition to get an ablation (have also heard not always successful). So my question to this forum would be. If you have AF and flutter and you do n...

Open Heart Surgery..Support Group

Is there a support group similar to the pacerclub for those who are about to have a coronary by-pass?

A friend  will have surgery in a week or so and would appreciate the advice of those who have been through  the operation, recovery and so on.   I hope there is one as helpful as the Pacerclub.. In searching the net there seem to be many - some of which appear to have  commercial tie-ins.
