Had my PM nearly 2 years. Sometimes it feels very tight under the skin and the whole area aches, other times I forget it's there.

Pain

No pain and only 3 weeks in with a new device on the right after having one extracted from the left.

It's important when you say pain, to understand just how much and what discomfort level, additionally do you have a low threshold for pain? If you're talking minor aches and pains periodically, yeah, pretty common. But if you are talking high pain to a point where you don't even want anything to touch the spot or lift your arm, that's not normal.

It is possible, if the pain is pretty intense that you have the beginning of frozen shoulder syndrome. Make sure you check with your doctor, move the arm around and get physical therapy if it is frozen shoulder. One additional possibility, and an X-Ray would show...the leads could be rubbing a nerve bundle causing the pain. Again check with the doctor and make sure you highlight the issue with him.

I've had devices for pushing 10 years and have no real pain. A few aches periodically but no pain. I see no reason others should suffer with it unnecessarily.

Good luck

Hi

I had my pacemaker fitted 5 months ago too and I still have quite a lot of pain especially when I am trying to get to sleep. I think it is slowly improving though and I am sure we will eventually get to the stage where we won't even think of it.

yes we will
