opinions on if I will need a pace maker

Hello all, I do not have a pacemaker. I will be under going  an eps study and the doctor will decide then if I need one. I need your all opinions about it. I have had  syncope 7 or 8 times. One of them I was riding a bicycle and just went down and  passed out blacked out etc.. After about 20 minutes I feel ok again but I am only blacked out for under a minute. EKG and Echo shows a little bradychardia and rbbb. Not real bad though. I passed the stress test. The echo showed some arythmia that is why the doctor thinks it is an electrical issue.  He siad the pacemaker will help keep everything as should be. Has anyone here had a similar  thing going on?Anybody's opinion is welcomed....

Thanks for the reply sparrrow. I am not totally against a pacemaker. If the doc says I need one then I will get it.  My rhythm is intermintent too.

You need a solution one way or another

If there was a significant risk of me blacking out then I would either get the pacemaker or I would not get out of bed. Since life is for living then spending it in bed is not an option.

When I was blacking out my vital signs recovered very quickly and within a few minutes I felt like nothing had happened, which is the main reason why the doctors could not diagnose my condition until they actually witnessed it happening.

shaun did you have an eps study to capture what was happening?

No EPS Study

...  because I got to the state where I would pass out every single time I fell asleep, so they could capture "real time" what was happening on an ECG.

All the best,

Shaun.

Haven't been here for a while. eps study showed a grey area for a pacemaker. They put in a loop recorder doctor read it today and has me scheduled for the PM tomorow morning. I guess welcome to the club  huh.....

You know you're wired when...

Your signature looks like an EKG.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
