Received my PM on 3/14 this year and it sure has given me lots of extra energy...has slowed down a bit and getting used to it every day, but I am still becoming light headed. If I move to the side or raise from a chair or just stooping over I have to hold onto something because I feel very light headed. Had this problem from the first and at the 1st week check up the Dr. said it was vertigo, but wasn't to concerned about it. Been over a month and I still have the problem. I read that others...

I am having an issue, that I am hoping someone may have insight on. I am six weeks in with my pace maker, and I am a 43 year old female. I was feeling really good for the most part, as far as energy, and such. For the last 6 days, I have been on my cycle, and the last few days, I feel very drained and tired. Is this normal, or should I be concerned? Thank you in advance. My pm has been interrogated twice

I got my pacemaker in Sept. I'm back to work at QuikStop and we have touchscreen registers. If I use my fingertips the screen doesn't work but if I use a pencil eraser or the bed of my fingernail it works fine. Can the pacemaker affect my fingertips?

Hi Everyone,
Just over 3 weeks ago while holidaying in the UK I had complete heartblock and received an emergency dual chamber pacemaker as a souvenir to take home to Australia with me.
I'm only 27 and before the pacemaker I have always been very active. I walked a min 10km per day and went to the gym to either swim or cross-fit 5 days per week. Since receiving my pacemaker just over 3 weeks ago I have lost 3.4 kilograms. I have been doing small walks for about 30 minutes...

To anyone who has gone off them, after you took the last dose, how long did it take until you didn't have any effects? I know the meds themselves don't last long in our system, but I expect it to take some time for the heart to adapt again.

I have eczema, big time! I'm getting the same run a round, where the dermatologist and cardio docs say: ask the ''other doc'' to OK lab tests.
So, does anybody know of an independent lab that I can send specimens to check for heavy metal poisoning? A name and phone number would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I am just about 87 yo...have had a PM for 4 yrs...regular and uneventful checkups...joined a gym for my debilitating arthritic knees...but I do get fatigued more than I like. "More than I like" meaning that a 45 minute walk fatigues me. Since the physical tests don't alarm my doctor, should I just accept that I am getting old and probably some other parts of me, such as my knees, are working in a diminished way?

Hi. I have had my icd implanted on my right side of my chest in December 2015 . I have had a lot of discomfort there. Because I am very slender in built. But recently I am having sleepless nights . Anyone else having this problem. I cannot sleep a full nights sleep. I am on medication that I take in the mornings only.

Just had a dual chamber installed and am curious how long until I am free to move around and not be scared I'll rip my leads out of place? One of the doctors said it can take up to a month and a half for everyone to scar tissue around. Is this true?
Thanks for all your help everyone. This is such a great resource.

When reading our postings/comments, I often wonder how many of us spend precious living moments stressing over cardiac readings, numbers, studies....you get what I mean. The recent Merlin discussion got me wondering again, because I was actually tired by the time I got to the end of all the comments filled with the amount of just even cardiac info some of us have stored in our brains. Technology is great. Without it, I would not be writing this. I just don't want to wake up one day and find...

I had septal ablation 2 days ago and now have complete heart block. They tried taking me off of the temporary pacemaker 4 times and I flatlined every time.
I'm worried now that I'm completely dependent, my pacemaker could fail and I'll die within minutes.
Anyone know how reliable they are? Anyone else TOTALLY dependent?

Sorry for all the questions. Questions and all the what if's are still running around my brain!
When I had my ICD implanted a couple of weeks ago the nurse mentioned that I shouldn't have the ICD exposed to the direct sun such as lying on a beach. Although I don't plan to spend countless hours sunbathing, I do typically go on beach type vacations such as Hawaii, etc.
The Medtronic web site says sun exposer is okay but I'd hate to have a problem while on vacation someplace....

I am a little over two months post op (2 lead pm) and am scheduled to go in next week for my 3 month check up. I called today to ask what time my appointment was at and was told I actually needed to reschedule because my doctor was leaving the practice and I either needed to meet with him earlier in the week or schedule with the other EP (don't know what would have happened if I had just arrived for my scheduled appointment or if they were planning on telling me before I arrived). I don't real...
