Received my PM on 3/14 this year and it sure has given me lots of extra energy...has slowed down a bit and getting used to it every day, but I am still becoming light headed. If I move to the side or raise from a chair or just stooping over I have to hold onto something because I feel very light headed. Had this problem from the first and at the 1st week check up the Dr. said it was vertigo, but wasn't to concerned about it. Been over a month and I still have the problem. I read that others have had this and wondered if it is something I have to live with or will it change or is there and underlying problem? Thanks for the info in advance

possibly too low a resting setting?

Some PM's will decrease their rate if they sense that you are at rest/sleeping...perhaps yours is going too low or the recovery rate isn't fast enough.
Your Dr should be able to check and adjust as needed.
If not PM settings related perhaps something else is going on with your body.
Doesn't seem to be the BP

I check my BP everyday with our monitor and it's not low pressure. I have had high BP for years and take meds to help. Yea in the past years I have also stood up to fast and felt light headed, but this is something new. Even when I turn over in bed I will feel it, or turn my head fast to one side, or when standing turn my body fast I feel it.
Vertigo

"Even when I turn over in bed I will feel it, or turn my head fast to one side,"
That does sound more like vertigo.
But go to your PCP and have him look at that.
Also high BP does not mean that it can be a low BP problem. It should be checked when after sitting a couple of minutes. Then immediately after standing up.
Again your PCP would be good for checking this out.
Vertigo

It could be vertigo, but it is the same feeling I had when my heart was out of sync. There may be a need for a PM adjustment?
Dizziness

I have just posted a similar problem , Ibe had my pm 6 weeks now and I've progressively got worse , dizzy at all times leading to blackouts , I've had a tilt test and that came back positive , theve adjusted the pm settings and still the same , it's a nightmare to live with and I'm starting to get very frustrated , The consultant doesn't seem to have an answer obviously this doesn't answer your question but we are def in the same boat .
Same boat

Had my PM put in exactly same day as you, March 14. Was so positive that something was wrong, but kept getting checked and everything was as it should be. Light headed and the odd skipped beats lasted till just this week. Now, for the first time, in oh, so long, I feel great! So...don't despair. Some feel better immediately while others take their merry time, like us. Good luck!

Check your blood pressure

With the new heart rate determined by your PM, it is possible that your blood pressure is low at times, and that could cause you to feel light headed when you stand up. I had this occur occasionally when I was growing up, and had occasional rapid heartbeats. Little did I know that it was a precursor to a-fib. I always had a low heart rate and low blood pressure. Doctors always asked if I was an athlete, which I was through high school and into college. However, when the desk job took over, and I stopped being said athlete, the a-fib manifested itself. All this is said to recommend that you get a good blood pressure monitor and check yourself frequently, so you can determine a pattern with low blood pressure and the light headed feeling.
