How can we improve our website?

Our website will be upgraded this Winter. We've had some performance issues lately due using an older platform and outdated code. The upgrade will address these issues.

What would be very helpful is hearing your ideas on how to make our website better. I'm thinking about functionally, design, layout, etc. I would also like to know what you really like so we can ensure that continues.

Thanks in advance,

Blake

LEMMY.........RIP........

...There can be few left who are Rock-and-Rollers and have not heard of the death of 'Lemmy' from Motorhead....But....

How many knew that he had a pacemaker / defib device put in a couple of years ago ??

Now there are a whole bunch of Members who don't see that this is an appropriate topic to field here on PMC...just look over the LH side and check out Famous Members....OK ??

I can just see Lemmy telling his Surgeon that no sedation would be necessary ..."...

Restrictions for air travel

Hello. I had my PM implanted on Dec 16, 2015. I need to go back to my workplace which is a one-hour plane ride from where I am now. When is it advisable to take this plane ride? Will the altitude have any effect on the PM? Are the airlines ok with passengers who had this surgery for less than a month? Thank you so much for your help. Btw, I am female, 61 y/o with a stressful managerial job.

headaches

I will have a 3 lead CRT device implanted in 3 weeks.
I have a LBBB and EF of 30%. I have felt tired and low endurance for several months. The past 4 or 5 months I have experienced strong headaches when waking in the morning. My cardiologist never comments on this. Has anyone had this pain and does the CRT help?
Another question -- the 3rd lead attaches to the outside of the heart. Has anyone experienced a problem with the 3rd lead?

pacemaker

Hi, I've had my 3 leads Pacemaker for about two years now, what has happened over the last one month is that every time I enter a store my Pacemaker constantly keeps beeping, not good for me as everyone looks at me as if I've stolen something. The pacemaker has never beeped before, now it even beeps when I'm in the store for a few seconds. Do I need to worry that it's not working as it should. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi! Have had palpitations every day for a couple of weeks.
When should I get worried? Palpitations are mild - not severe and I saw doctor on 12/10. He did not comment on palpitations and EKG, etc. was OK. My PM recorded 3 episodes this year 2 in August & one on 11/26.Lasted almost 2 minutes each. Someone out there have these palpitations and any advice? Thanks - Happy Holidays. PS I have had PM since 5/2010 &
this had not happened before.

New PM patient

I found this site and it has been a Blessing! I had My PM placed exactly one month ago! Before having it placed, I had low Pulse rate (40's) I experienced a weird dizzy spell while driving! I would lay down to go to sleep, and feel like My pulse stopped and I was fading into the Mattress! On Thanksgiving morning (After a night of no sleep) I walked the Dog and felt OK. I was feeling quite scared so I called a Friend who is a Cardiac Surgeon! He said to go to an Emergency room and have a EKG stri...

Getting PM next month

Hi,
I am going to have a pacemaker implanted at the end of January. I'm a little nervous about the whole thing but I guess it is for the best.
I have bradycardia and my heart rate dips into the 30's which isn't good but it only happens for a short while every couple of days. ,out of the time I'm in the 40's and 50's.

Can I really expect to get back to all my regular activities?
Thanks for any insight you have on this process.

Patricia

New to Pacemaker

I received my pacemaker 12/14/15 and was SO happy to be able to run on 12/24 and 12/25! It is comforting to know that my heart will beat like it is suppose to now. I feel that I am still a bit winded with my running but hoping this will get better. I go back to my technician in 3 months. Any thoughts for a new pacemaker would be appreciated. Thanks, Linda

this is difficult

Hello All, I had a device put in a little over a year ago. At the time I had a cardiac cath which revealed a blockage that I have had for 4 years and it hasn't got any worse only a 30%. My question to all with PM's is since I was diagnosed with sick sinus and have to take a LA Beta blocker every night along with anxiety and pain meds daily as prescribed. Is it normal to be at my lower rate while just sitting around and is it normal to have palpitations daily? It scares me to death and from what...

Home Remedy

Hi,

I know this is off topic but does anyone have a home remedy for a cough expectorate. I have episodes of coughing with a lot of phlegm that I am unable to cough up, which leads to a slight panic attack and I can't catch my breath. I really do not want to take any OTC meds, I have enough problems. Would appreciate your input. Thank you.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
