So good to hear from you. We were worried about you. How did the surgery go?

the CRT-D implant on Oct 5 went well, other than the lead retracting from the left ventricle and up into the atrium. Makes for quite interesting beats when the atrium is pacing the atrium .

The lead revision was Dec 17. They kept me awake, I think to supervise the surgeon. Those who're insistent they put you to sleep for the implant are missing a whole new adventure. Just don't tell them the previous surgeon lost his watch and is offering a reward of they find it...some doctors are quite greedy.

So here we are in Jan 2016 and I'm still waiting for my follow-up with the surgeon. I tried getting in several times but apparently all the money I've spent sending his children to college didn't buy me priority appointments.

I'm expecting when I finally see him a week from tomorrow he'll want to schedule another attempt at getting it right. That's why they call it practicing medicine.

So in answer to your query, I'm not sure yet. I will add, the Neptune society sent me a special offer to bury me at sea, immediately, and my wife had our son dig a large hole in the garden...not a good sign at my house.

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
