palpitations

Hi! Have had palpitations every day for a couple of weeks.
When should I get worried? Palpitations are mild - not severe and I saw doctor on 12/10. He did not comment on palpitations and EKG, etc. was OK. My PM recorded 3 episodes this year 2 in August & one on 11/26.Lasted almost 2 minutes each. Someone out there have these palpitations and any advice? Thanks - Happy Holidays. PS I have had PM since 5/2010 &
this had not happened before.

Palpitations can be caused by a number of things. Too much caffeine, stress, alcohol, The fact that your EKG was ok is good. If the palpitations were something to worry about, it would have shown on the EKG and Dr would have addressed it.

I get them a lot and so far the Dr said pacer recorded them but they are nothing to worry about. So I don't. As I said stress can trigger them so I try not worry if I get an episode of them.

Drinking ice tea can trigger them for me so I try to avoid drinking it at lunchtime. But I love it and sure enough later in the afternoon if I do have a big glass, bam, palpitations....

When you do get them, try and remember what you drank or ate before the episode. It may help you figure what is triggering them. Some people have them everyday but you only had three episodes in a year. Pretty good.

Thanks Magster! Sorry I took so long to acknowledge.
Had not opened the site since I posted. Too much to do. You are so right about stress causing palpitations. I've been under some stress lately. I am not going to worry about it any more. I'm sure if it was serious my body would let me know. I appreciate this so much. It's good to have people to talk to when you are not sure.
Have a great New Year. Mary

I have recently started feeling flutters etc. I have an ICD going on 6 years and I just turned 40. I had an episode where it paced me and I felt it back a month ago. went to the Dr and he said yes I did have an episode and the ICD did it s job. But the worrying started. I am on prozac and I tell myself every time I feel a flutter that it is me just being anxious and that I need to quit worrying so much and just live. I try to stay away from caffeine but do have a to have a cup of coffee. Thanks for posting it makes me realize i am not alone and to quite worrying.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
