May I wish all at PM Club all the very best for the New Year..
Over here in our tiny island we are currently being hammered by rain and floods...the worst in living memory..
2016 just has to be better or we shall all change our names to Noah and build Arks..!!
Special mention to Blake and many thanks for all that he and the moderators do for us over the year.
My best wishes to all Members, both old and new.

Thinking of you and hoping all that rain and flooding subsides. Awful what's happening to so many people.
Thank you for the kindness and support you've given me this year. May life give you the same in return.
Best wishes to everyone for a happy, and definitely healthy, New Year!

..."el Nino"? (Sorry, folks I can't figure out how to get the tilde above the second n.)
This is an el Nino year & we are catching it in the SE US. Rain out the wazoo, flooding, heavy thunderstorms, flash flooding - just like a very violent spring, except in December.
We had forty some odd deaths from flooding & tornadoes last weekend.
Monday at 0315 we were awakened by a tornado alert; turned on the TV to get details and discovered that the tornado was heading our general direction here in south Mississippi & about 20 min out. It was following a path about one mile west of Interstate highway and parallel to it. Suddenly it changed direction & headed right toward our daughter's house. I hustled Mary Helen (Wife) into the bath tub - the safest place in the house - & prepared to lie on the floor beside the tub. Fortunately, the funnel never touched down, so technically it was not classed as a tornado, but it passed right over us, continuing to pass right over the center of town & her new medical clinic she just opened last week.
Christmas day we had temps in the mid 70's (Fahrenheit) when they should have been in the low 40's.
So far it's being a typical el Nino year!
!997 was also an el Nino year & we had torrential rains in Georgia where we live - tornadoes, also. The following spring, (1998) we were living in a rented mobile home while we built our house - a tornado passed right over the trailer we were living in, its funnel dipped low enough to hit the treetops, ripping a lot of pine needles off the trees & making it smell like a freshly cut Christmas Tree.
Fortunately it did not get low enough to damage any of the trailers in the park. We had all of 5 minutes warning for that one & could see it coming. There were no shelters of any type anywhere near, so we did the least worst thing, jumped into our truck & drove down a road perpendicular to the storm's path. A dangerous act, but given the only other choice, sit there & wait to be hit, it was the best course of action.
Happy New Year to all. Alma, you will, as usual, beat us to the new year. Tell us if it looks any different so we know what to look for. G

Hi, T Man
Thank you for the kind wishes. Wishing you, your family and country a safe year. It is always great to see new names join us, but I find myself missing some and wishing those names would suddenly appear. We are the fortunate ones to greet 2016. I have learned to appreciate each stage of life, try to understand its purpose and enjoy it. All things pass both good and bad, and so will 2016. It is so special we have this site to see us through. May we all always remember to give to others more than we take and thank each other for caring. Thank you, Tattoo Man.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
floods and fire

Hi TM,
Yes I have seen it on TV. Do you live in the flood area? We had bad bush fires in North of our state, (SA) 116 people lost their homes last week in bushfires in Victoria. Sydney on the East coast has had storms and floods. Is this all due to climate change? Not global warming. We had the coldest winter here on record, but the hottest December on record. The world seems to be going a bit crazy.
Happy new year.
