Our website will be upgraded this Winter. We've had some performance issues lately due using an older platform and outdated code. The upgrade will address these issues.
What would be very helpful is hearing your ideas on how to make our website better. I'm thinking about functionally, design, layout, etc. I would also like to know what you really like so we can ensure that continues.
Thanks in advance,
Blake

Show post with newest comments rather than newest post first. If someone comments on something that's gone off the first page, odds are no one will ever see it
Judy: How to do it
by donr - 2016-01-04 01:01:22
When you want to read a post, RIGHT CLICK on the title.
Open it in a separate window.
When finished reading close that separate window & you are right back where you started.

You can do that now. Log in. Then go to "My comments" or " My postings" ( top RH corner ) . Then click " edit" on RH side of individual comment or post. When the post opens you can edit / delete it if you wish

summer or winter

Hi Blake,
Do you mean this summer? It is 39C today. That is about 102F.
I joke. Actually I am happy with the web site. Not being computer savvy, if you change it I wonder if I will be able to find my way around?

Searching
by Artist - 2016-01-04 04:01:37
I also think this web site is very well done. My only recommendation would be to make the search feature more pronounced and noticeable. I was using the PM Club for a long time before I reaized there was a search tool

Hi Blake,
Time stamp/ time zone?
The email notification of a private message or comment to your post was a nice feature. It seems to work very sporadically now. You have to make sure you look for any "new messages".
Also, for the private messages, whether sent or in the inbox, when you click on the message, the page comes up blank now.
An "Eject" button would come in handy. :-)
I do have another suggestion but I will private message you so please look for it.
Happy New Year Blake,
Grateful Heart

1) Have a function that can take you to the top of the page at any time. Having to scroll up is a pain.
2) The Search Function leaves a lot to be desired. I've had trouble finding some of my own comments when I knew some of the words in the title. I have yet to figure out the sequence for comments/posts appearing in the list. It would be nice if the date of the comment/post be shown in the listing instead of having to call the location out of the archive to see when the material was written.
3) REQUIRE that some basic info be entered into the bio sketch in order to make posts/comments.
a) Device type (PM/ICD)
b) Manufacturer
c) Year of Implant
d) Year of birth
e) Country
f) Year joined the PMC
g) Gender
All the rest of the info in the bio page is useful, but the above 7 items really help craft a response to the poster.
4) Add a spell checker.
5) On the member list - how about the ability to call up more than a member's most recent ten post/comments. For prolific posters, it would make it easier to find items you recall but cannot find in the general search function.
6) Ditto for the moderator's search sub-routine. A huge number of us have so many postings that the system chokes & cannot give you any info at all.
7) How about on the home page placing the category selected by the poster in parentheses in the title line.
8) What happened to the Spam Reducer code box? be nice to have it back. Ditto for the e-mail notifications for Pvt Msg arrivals & comments to your postings.

Return to previous spot

New to this site and it's great! Would be nice if after reading comments it would return you to the post you were reading the comments on instead of throwing you back to top of page and then having to scroll back down to find your place.

I also vote for latest message (including comments) to top instead.
Also the time stamp. I have no idea of what time zone it is.

Frankly, I love the site just the way it is. I am sure an upgrade will provide for better reliability and some new functionality that I'll appreciate. However, you provide a great service here for which I am grateful.
A couple things I can think of at the moment is; do you recall a couple of spammers setting-up accounts and posting some ridiculous stuff? If there is a way to better prevent that, it would be a good thing.
Also, postings could be moved-up (on the main page) based upon the most recent comments. Therefore, the more popular topics (postings drawing the most comments) would stay higher on the page longer as a function of it's popularity (interest).
Thanks,
David
