Rash

On the 11th of this month I received a new pacemaker. Almost immediately upon waking I started itching. By Thursday morning I was wanting to dig my skin. I took off the bandage and around the incision was this rash. I lifted the corner of one of the steri strips and the skin came with it, oozing fluid. But the incision looked good. by Friday it was twice as bad. Thinking the rash was from the tape. By Monday when I went to the doctor the rash was up my neck and across my chest. But Friday I was...

333 beats per/min

Hi all,

So i just got back from a check up! i have had my pacemaker since Dec 2013 for SSS and Brady. The Lab tech picked up my heart reaching several high beats per/min, highest being 333 for 11 sec. After doing a 24hr holter which came back normal the Dr says its not dangerous and not to worry then put me on Bilocor (Bisoprolol)!

Can someone please give me peace of mind because everything i research tells me otherwise!

Just wearing the FitBit makes me conscious of keeping myself in motion.

Just made the decision to get a pacemaker

Hi. My name is Melody, and I have been dx with bradycardia since November. After being very angry at my body, I have decided to gone ahead with a pacemaker. I was angry with my body because I had just lost 115 pounds in the previous 14 months. I had also been exercising for the first time ever, water aerobics 3 to 5 times a week. I had been over 100 pounds overweight since 1977, and this time I was at 285. I started in September, 2013, and had dropped to 170 by November, 2014. The good...

going back to work

I had a st jude pacemaker implanted on 1/29/15 and now it's time for me to go back to work. I'm a little nervous because I'm an EMT and in order to be cleared to full duty by my company I have to pass a physical agility test... Which I'm doing tomorrow. But for the past 3 weeks I haven't done anything physical as far as lifting and all that. I'm just nervous because my incision site hasn't fully healed and I'm also nervous about how it's going to feel while lifting, doing chest compressions, etc...

All this is supported...

Pulsating

Hi everyone in PM land. Hopefully everyone is feeling well and adjusting to a new lifestyle. I have a question, does anyone ever feel a pulsating sensation at their pacemaker site? This doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes I feel this at the site, kind of a freaky feeling.

Happy 1st PM birthday to me!

Hi Everyone,

One year ago today I got my pacer. Wow, how time flies! I can't believe it's been a whole year already. I am doing good. My last report showed I am pacing about 25% of the time. I see my doc in April. My life is totally back to normal except for those stubborn few pounds I gained during my recovery, but I'm working on that!

I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you. The support and encouragement I received here was unbelievable and without i...

confused

Hi guys

I have a dual chamber pm which was implanted in June 2014.
After the pm was implanted I was still experiencing syncope episodes. I went to the hospital then I was admitted to repositioning of the Av lead. The procedure went okay though the doctors said I had a terrible seizure after I was sedated. However when I went for the follow up visit the technician said I still had abnormal rhythms. My pm was re- set and I was fine. Recently I have been feeling dizzy. Last Friday...
