pm devices

Does anyone here have the medtronic mri compatible pm and if so do you have any problems associated with it? I have heard it is pain to adjust and that the biotronik mri pm is much better all around. Getting ready to have a pm placed and just want some feedback.
Thanks

I do not have any problems with my Medtronics MRI compatible device. Since it is my first one, I don't have anything to compare it with but I've had it for 14 months and I think it's ok.

Don't get too caught up in the device brand. Just stay focused on the end result. Keep us posted.

Hi,

I got my Medtronic MRI compatible pacer one year ago today and have had no problems with it whatsoever. It is my first one and my doc did not give me a choice.

Good luck to you!

Biotronik

I have a Biotronik Evia DR-T. I recently had to get cardioverted, so I got to see my rep. I asked him about MRI compatibility and he said it would probably not be a problem with the device I had. Especially if it was on the knee or lower extremity. He said many hospitals are doing them now on so called non MRI compatible PM's.
However, it may be a good idea to have the rep. there.

Medtronic MRI

i have one just about 1 year now. For me anyway because i run/bike have had a few adjustments. just trying to get it right. With that siad i do think it is not the PM, I believe it is more because my cardiologist is just not to up on adjustment for a active guy that just wants everything.. I am a bit of a PITA for her but she is wonderful as is the PM Rep, but it is a work in progress.

MRI friendly

On 2.19.2015 my Medtronic MRI FRIENDLY PM was an emergency surgery because the medicines I needed to control my AFIB would lower my heart rate below my normal 45. Unfortunately I had major rotator surgery only 5 days before so the doctor said just in case I needed another MRI he would put in the Medtronic MRI friendly PM. There were no complications and I'm feeling fine...shoulder and heart :-) Good luck!

You know you're wired when...

Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
