First I would like to say what a wonderful forum with alot of great information. Have only been a member for 24hrs or so and searching site for probally 10hrs.
Do have to ask, for forum decusions, are ICD and PM considered one in the same. I have ICD. Thanks for your time.

icd vs pm

All a pm does is pace. An icd can deliver a shock to get the heart out of a dangerous rhythm. All icd's are also pm's because pacing is usually needed right after a shock is delivered.

Having an ICD is kind of like having a 4X4 truck, you can use it for regular commuting (like a PM for regular pacing), but you also have the ability to get through the tough stuff if you really need it! ;>
