Had my Pm St. Judes 5820 2 lead Tuesday at 12:30 PM. All went well. I am sitting up in my private room and start having twitches on my lower right side. It continued thought the night asked 3 rn's and they said it was not pacemaker related. The next morning it was a complete twitching /spasm of the right side you could see it through hospital gown. Told pacemaker guy about it and he said it is a pacemaker problem. One of the leads was shocking a nerve. He turned the power from 1 volt to 2 volts...

Well, it's that day of the year again when all the Yanks crawl out from under their rocks & hold a raucous Star-Spangled bash of a birthday party - on the WRONG day, of course.
Ah, the Fourth of July. Conjours up all sorts of visions - fireworks celebration, cannon fire as salutes, flags, picnics, barbecues - a general, all-around grand time. Oh, BTW - don't forget the speeches!
We celebrate a major event in the history of the World; but it was really a schmear of events...

Woke up to a strong electrical shock 4 months ago while in hospital recovering from bladder surgery. My cardio said it was from the cauterize the surgeon used which caused the electrical response. Just had another shock while falling asleep (that's when my heart was pausing b4 pm) This am the area around pm seems a little sore. Never heard a pm delivering a shock only a defibrillator doing this. Anyone else have a small shock from their pm?

As of June 23rd, 2014 I am the proud owner of a Boston Scientific CRT-D. My Dr. told me that this would increase my energy level and I might say I think he was correct. The past 3 - 4 years have been interesting since I had quad-bypass in Feb of 2011. I was pleased to find a site where others are available for support and answers to questions. I like and appreciate my Cardiologist and Arrhythmia Dr's but the sometimes do not share as much information as I would like.
I hope that every...

Hi all ...
Seven weeks ago, I was implanted with a Medtronic cardiac pacemaker. The reason was that I had occasional long pauses between beats (7 seconds). Only a pacemaker, not the fancier stuff.
Three times now, I have had a tingly buzz from the area of my pacemaker. This mornings was the longest so far. Is this normal? Somehow, I had the impression that I should not be feeling the pacing.
I understand that I am paced less than 1%, so I have no idea whether thi...

sometimes I wonder...
so - last weekend, driving on the Isle of Wight,UK, I was following the voice of wisdom, (SatNav) with my mother and aunt in the car as we tried to find an historic castle.
So lets set the scene properly, I was at a crossroads in a small town called Newport, following a doubledecker bus with lots of pedestrians, shopping, waiting to cross roads. The voice of wisdom says - Turn left.
Picture this....
The bus brakes suddenly, I brake.....

As we all know that the mobile phones are used widely in people's daily life now and certainly they have brought much convenience to us. However, for some special places where the phone devices are not allowed, the signals of the mobile phones should be blocked. The mobile phone jammer for sale which can be got from http://www.worldjammer.com/categories/Mobile_Phone_Signal_Jammer_/ is one of the jammer products which can be used in the military to protect the important information from being giv...

It will be a year in August since I got my pm. But for past 4 weeks I have had difficulty breathing. I had a tremendous fall at work and getting physical therapy for it I got electric stim in which I didn't know that would be a problem with pacey. The breathing difficulty has existed prior to stim. I was admitted to hospital with no findings. I have an appointment scheduled with the electrocardiologist. I really don't know what to do

Hi Everyone, Had a PM inserted 10 days ago and still get a burning sensation at the site. It seems to come and go and occasionally I feel almost a vibrating sensation. Is this normal and has anyone experienced this before. When I bend over I also have the sensation that it's moving in it's pouch. Is this my imagination or does this happen until it's settled in. Any info would be appreciated.

Hello,
I am a newbe to this site. I just recently had a Surescan pacemaker implanted Dec. 2013. The crazy thing about it all is I am an MRI Technologist. Everything was going great until my first home monitor. I just received a call from the office that the strips did NOT show anything wrong BUT she told me something about "noise" being picked up as well. I researched and it talks about a broken lead or screw malfunction. I have an appt. soon but was hoping someone might have any info...

AFIB Initiated By Stress?

79 years. PM implanted 8 weeks ago.
Yesterday the doc said I had AFIB for 40 hours, 4 weeks ago. I had walked seven miles, some of it uphill. I do not remember the temperature, but it was warm and dry. Typical for Arizona in early June. I did not notice any abnormal heart action then or the day thereafter.
Is this unusual? AFIB initiated by physical stress?
He prescribed Propafenone and scheduled a stress test next week.
You know you're wired when...
You can hear your heartbeat in your cell phone.
