Hi everyone,
I'm in quite an annoying place at the moment. I've had all the tests (angiogram, stress test, tilt test and EP test) and I'm now wearing a holter monitor for 24 hours.
My cardiologist has seen me almost faint after the stress test, I fainted during the tilt test, he acknowledges that there are electrical anomalies in my heart but he hasn't spoken about what he is going to do for me... Or what is causing the anomalies. I've guessed at heart block or symptomatic...

I had my pacemaker implanted in March this year. In July I noticed my left arm swelling. I can no longer wear my watch. Tests show no infection or no blood clots in the vanes. I am assuming the swelling has something to do with the pace maker. Anyone else had this problem?

This question is for the ladies (and maybe IAN & Tatman)........
l have bought an epilator & it says not to be used by people with PM's before checking with your doc.
Well l am not due to see my doc so l thought l would ask here if anyone has a problem with them? Obviously l would not be using it near my PM as strangely enough l dont have a hairy chest !!!

Hi there my good friends
My local hospital here in the west midlands, England have been selected to use the robot in our heart and lung centre.
One cannot appreciate enough the technology that is being used today.
People are sceptical as what would happen if things go wrong well we all know that computers are not 100% accurate, but in this case it has to be.
On watching operations via videos at our heart and lung conference I was truly amazed to see how it is used and...

14.4 miles today through the beautiful fall countryside. There are subtle seasonal changes every week now and I love connecting with nature this way. Grateful for the pm. Settings aren't great for running so I'm running slow, which takes longer but I get to savor the beauty of the countryside more. It's all good.

I guess I may have joined the club prematurely, because I don't have a pacemaker yet and I'm not sure if I will end up getting one in the end. I just suspect that I may need one based on what's happened in the last few weeks... On the 5th of September I had a stress test on the treadmill and almost fainted after I got off and stood for a few seconds. My heart rate dropped very quickly from around 140 bpm to 70, and after the test he recommended i have a tilt test and if that was positive, an EP...

Hi. I am a new member, just got my first PM, and this is my first post.
I've had probably 20 syncope episodes over the last dozen years. Some are Vaso Vagal but others were caused by my heart stopping (which we finally figured out 3 weeks ago and caught on a heart monitor as it was happening). I have bradycardia, with a resting heart rate around 50, and my BP is usually around 100/60. Luckily, heart and arteries are in good shape structurally, but there apparently was a disconnect bet...

I am a new member with a st jude pacemaker that was implanted two months ago ...it was an emergency implant.I had 3rd degree heartblock. This group has been extremely helpful for me because I knew absolutely nothing about pacemakers. My question...I am considering purchasing an all electric Nissan Leaf car...do I need to be concerned about EMF?

I am 70 year old male diagnosed with 2nd Degree
AV Block Mobitz 2 a week ago. My HR dropped to
21 during sleep with a holter with a 3 sec pause.
I have been an endurance athlete since the age of
25 with a best marathon time of 2:37 and a best 50
mile time of 5:49. I no longer run marathons but
still run, bike rides up 100m in 6 hours and 5 k swims
in 1:45. I am asymptomatic and although my HR sits
around 33-36, it acccelerates to 128-130 when running

It was about 4 weeks ago that I got my ICD exchanged for a CRT-D and there was so much difference that my body finally adjusted to the larger size. (There was no trade in value) The Dr had to put new wires for two of the three leads, so I still have 2 weeks of not lifting over 10# or raising my hand above my head.I was told by a nurse that I was going to ab an invalid for 6 weeks and remember that! That is really rough to do since all is better and not hurting or aching.Last week I yanked the sh...

I have mild spasms on the left side only when I lie on my stomach. This is how I like to sleep. They have adjusted it and say they can't go any lower. Does this bother anybody else?

During my last interrogation it was noted that I had one incident of nsvt. Has that happened to anyone else? What did they do about it? I am being sent for a thallium stress test and an echo. I had a pacemaker put in about a year and a half ago for complete heart block.

Did a pm check today and the tech kept talking about "you younger patients". Given my age I found that hilarious but I'm pretty excited that there is a place on this planet where I'm considered young.

Parents of littles with pacemakers, please let me know what I'm in for and what to expect. Our son Jackson goes to UCSF Oct 17th. For the past year I've been mourning his 'normal' since I anticipate more physical restrictions after implantation. He has tricuspid atresia so we are very familiar with the hospital scene & recovery after open heart surgeries & other procedures. Jackson came out of his Fontan surgery at age 3 pacing half the pre-op rate (his ave is in the 60's daytime, in the 20'...

Can the use of Toprol or Cardizem during the holding period awaiting an ablation and/or implant do irreparable damage to the heart or the heart's electrical system? It seems the longer I am on either one of those the worse I feel And I think it has something to do with depressing my heart rate. Although I have a strong beat, I checked my pulse at 10:00 this morning, mid way through the morning work schedule and after four or five cups of coffee and all I could get was 48bpm. Admittedly my wor...

Early evening I developed pain in the breast bone area and my heart rate (normally 60-63 at rest) was jumping up to 78-80 for no reason. I have never tried the nitro before but did last night. It helped for about two hours then it happened again so I went to the ER where I spent the next 7 1/2 hours of them monitoring me, xray and taking blood tests. They released me with no explain and told me to see my Cardiologist. Today, I can barely get my heart rate up beyond 69 even when walking. Che...

Why some people have to be so mean and rude!
I had an appointment for a colonoscopy that may or may not happen. Even though I had polyps the last time (3 years ago), I was told by the Doctor yesterday the "new medical guidelines" are to have the procedure every 5 years, instead of 3, but she will submit it for pre approval. What else is new? I am seeing this more and more and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I am getting medical bills for "preventive" exams that are no longer covere...
