I will never understand

Why some people have to be so mean and rude!

I had an appointment for a colonoscopy that may or may not happen. Even though I had polyps the last time (3 years ago), I was told by the Doctor yesterday the "new medical guidelines" are to have the procedure every 5 years, instead of 3, but she will submit it for pre approval. What else is new? I am seeing this more and more and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I am getting medical bills for "preventive" exams that are no longer covered. I'm sure somewhere in this new healthcare law is "patient, heal thyself". But that is another rant!

So anyway, I had to call and reschedule this possible appt. for another day. I just got off the phone with such a rude person.

She asked for my name, birthdate, address and phone number. She said she will notify the scheduling person of the change and date I requested. I asked her if they will let me know if that date is ok. She said in a very nasty tone, "that's why I asked you for your phone number, now is there anything else I can do today"?. All she had to say was "yes".

I wanted to say...you asked me for my birthdate and address too, does that mean you are going to send me a birthday card?

To me, it takes so much negative energy to be mean. I just don't get it....I guess I never will.

Sorry for the rant,

Grateful Heart

Unfortunately

That is becoming more the norm than the exception. I and my peers speak to the governmental tax offices on nearly a daily basis and one of my peers recently reported talking to an agent in one of those offices and the person from the governmental office used EVERY curse work available to mankind during the conversation while making the caller feel very, very uneasy and intimidated. Fortunately, that is a very rare occurrence and most people are kind and respectful. But there is a definite trend for things turning very negative. Sorry you had to experience this.

Report it

The person should be reported. Her supervisor can't coach or counsel her on acceptable etiquette if s/he isn't aware if it.
