I had my pacemaker implanted in March this year. In July I noticed my left arm swelling. I can no longer wear my watch. Tests show no infection or no blood clots in the vanes. I am assuming the swelling has something to do with the pace maker. Anyone else had this problem?

Blood clots were ruled out by an ultrasound in my neck area on the left side. Blood tests ruled out infection I am also on Xarelto which is a powerful blood thinner. Blood tests have also ruled out my kidneys. A vascular surgeon has suggested it may be caused by a restriction where the wires are inserted into the vein. This has not been proven yet. I see my cardiologist on Friday so I will see what she says.

I had swelling in my left arm and I had a blood clot behind my pacemaker! It wasn't in my arm and the clot wasn't in my neck, it was in my chest! They kept telling me that I should be dead! Good grief, no wonder I went through a period of time that I began to believe I should not have "made it". Anyway, it was a blood clot that measured 5" long in my chest wall. Ugh. Fine now
I don't mean to frighten you, but I'd sure get another opinion and ask this question... Is it possible I have a clot in another area associated with the left arm blood flow? Like in the chest? Maybe? Could happen, it did to me!
Best of luck to you,

How did they find the clot? And how long was it there for?
I am over 2 yrs postop and am having similar symptoms! My left arm gets very swollen , ice cold to the touch and very achy.
You know you're wired when...
You always run anti-virus software.

I would go to the GP next. It gets easy to blame everything on the pm and overlook other problems. Are they sure about clots?? That's really what it sounds like. How did they rule it out?
