I am new to this site. I will be having a bi-ventricular pacemaker in the next month for a-fib & heart failure. At this point i do not know which brand or model.
I also use hearing aides and a streamer for music, and phone from my cell. Does anyone know whether an Oticon Streamer will interfere with the running of the pace maker. Understandably I am very nervous about the procedure and would prefer to have all the answers ahead of time so there are no surprises after the pacemaker has be...

I have a Merlin Home Transmitter to send all the info from my pacemaker to my Cardiologist. I was wondering if anyone knows it there is a way I can see the information myself. I think it would be interesting if I was able to go on every couple days or so to see how much activity my pacemaker has had. I tried googling it but couldnt find anything on it.

In a conversation about paragliding, don r says: there might be more nut cases in the pmc who want to do that....and encouraged me to post on this. So for all you other nutcases who are considering paragliding post pm, there was absolutely no problem with forces from the harness pressing on the pm. Less discomfort than a seatbelt actually. My pilot was a blast and I had my best fly ever. He asked if I wanted to have a little fun. Sure. Can't even describe what happened next but something close...

Hi all
I am new on here, both my 14 year old son and my self 40 have an icd which pace as well.
My son has had his for 8 years now and until the last few weeks his device has never paced him, only ever shocked. But for some reason within the last two weeks his heart rate and blood pressure has dropped out of the blue for no known reason and so the device has been pacing on and off for around 2 to 3 hours. Along with this he has had chest pains and the doctors here dont know why its hap...

I am going to my second check up with the cardiologist this Tuesday. The first time around, I had no idea just what questions I should be asking because I just had the pm implanted in June for third degree heart block. I was in Ireland (I live in the US) on vacation and collapsed and had the pm implanted before I really understood what was happening or I would have died. So, I never got the chance to ask the Dr. there all the questions I had. I was still a little shell shocked. I feel okay, but...

Hello all,
This is really not a pacemaker issue, but has anyone ever been told the have "inverted T waves" from their EKG report.
I just had an EKG last week and the "inverted T waves" showed up. This never happened before. I'm going to have another follow up. My doctor said it could be viral related, but I'm going for tests.
Just wondering if anyone else ever had this.

Hi there, I am so impressed with this forum and very grateful for all the information I have already gathered. I haven't managed to get firm info about my continuing dizziness though. I had my metronic dual lead rate responsive pm just over three weeks ago and have healed very well and am very happy with it. However, I have been feeling muzzy headed and a little off balance since having it fitted for brachycardia and arrhythmia. It is currently set at 60 with a high of 150 as I am a runner. I am...

Had a dexascan and mammagram yesterday. My Dr's RN called me today and said that the Dr was very upset, "told her to call me because she didn't know how to keep me from breaking my hip so I needed to see an endocrinologist". ....Can you even guess how upset the Dr. would be if she knew how the RN blurted that out to me???! ... I get "tickled" every time I think how mad the Doc would be...Hope Ole Doc is wrong...but talk about foot in mouth disease! Bev

I just read a joke i thought was appropriate for the times.
A man was laying in his hospital bed and the nurse tells him,
Your new pacemaker comes with 5 million free beats. more are available on pulsemore.com. I thought this was great. We are getting charged extra for everything these days.

My wife and i are traveling to Sydney from March 1st. through March 4th we have never been to Australia. I just wondered if we had any members there willing to help show us around or give us some hints about what we should try to see. We are getting there on a cruise ship and are also going to cruise back to the U.S.
We are also going to be in New Zealand for some stops. Let me know what towns you are in and I will get back to you with dates and times we will be there. Our time in New Z...

Hi, just wanted to talk with someone and wanted some comments on this ...I started working part-time, temporary 3 days a week. Its been tough, not sure why very, very tired. Its been a while since I've worked. Anyway, to started, I work at a surgical center, but do medical billing downstairs. My 1st day was filling out so many forms, including medical forms. I did not say anything regarding pacemaker, having NCS and seizures because I was hired as a temp. But, even with that, I would not b...

Just checking in. Hope everybody has been doing good. Myself, well I'm still hanging in there. Have my monthly check up Friday. Over all, I been spending more time in bed the last couple weeks, so I hope they can do something to help me get back a little energy. Our Teal hunting season open up last Saturday and I haven't even hunted yet. Just to tired all the time.
My puppy is coming along great. Thank God he is smart due to me not being able to work him like I need to. On problem wit...

I am 34 yrs old and was just diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome. I am still in a state of shock about it. I have three beautiful kids, 13, 11, and 9. And tonight I get to tell them about this. I am scared I will not be able to see them grow up, graduate, marry and have kids. My heart is breaking for them.
I am changing cardiologists this week and have not discussed a pacemaker except with my family doctor. But I do know that I am tired of feeling like this. I am tire of being sick. I am sup...

Next week marks my 2 year anniversary to PM implant. I have been experiencing a little lightheadedness and a feeling of strong heart beat in my neck. I am going to get this checked out, just waiting for a call back from the clinic. I had the same feelings last year at this time (leads me to think it is seasonal or weather related) but they were way more intense. They increased a time setting so that it waits longer before firing again (sorry I don't know the exact technical terms) and that solve...

Bad Luck.
I just posted that after a month I was doing great.I Stacked 5 cord of firewood, been walking 3-miles.Had a great echo too.
Went in today due to some inflamation at the incision. There was a suture that did not dissolve that caused the infection.
The infection has spread and I have to have the month old pacer & leads located on my left removed, the infection cleared up and another pacer placed on my right side .
Doc who implanted the pacer said it was the first time...

I'm 54 and had my pacemaker implanted on July 15th 2013 due to third degree heart block. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who feels/felt different in their core- that's the only way I can describe it, it's as though I swallowed something and its stuck somewhere in the center of me. I asked the dr. if I could be feeling a lead, but he said you don't feel leads. Perhaps the leads moved things a bit or makes me feel some pressure. I'm going to the cardiologist on Friday and wil...
