Hi, just wanted to talk with someone and wanted some comments on this ...I started working part-time, temporary 3 days a week. Its been tough, not sure why very, very tired. Its been a while since I've worked. Anyway, to started, I work at a surgical center, but do medical billing downstairs. My 1st day was filling out so many forms, including medical forms. I did not say anything regarding pacemaker, having NCS and seizures because I was hired as a temp. But, even with that, I would not because I do not want to. I had to get a TB shot and Airborne particles blood or something. But, then what hit me the MOST ....a physical by a doctor from upstairs AT MY DESK. Oh, it was basic but I was shaking so, so much to be put in this position. He check my pulse, asked me if I had any medical problems and the doc took his scope on my back and my chest almost on my pacemaker. He didn't say a word, he just said breath in a out. So, any opinions on this crazy ....???

I appreciate the comments and your expert opinions. Also, the great support, I needed it. I did not like the whole thing, it was done unprofessional. It was very weird to lie, I have never done that at work. So, it personally went against my beliefs. Anyway, thanks !!!!!
As far as a lie

I am not someone who lies a lot so it was uncomfortable. If they sent me to a doctor at a "real doctors office" I would have told the doctor my medical issues. I meet strangers and tell them all the time. When I went for the TB test and a doctor at another facility gave me the test, I told him my issues in a private off facility independent site. He said no one has to know only about the TB results. I am doing medical billing not surgery ....!!! I was hired as a temp, now the supervisor asked me to work perm. Oh well, if something happens, I do not give a ......anymore, because my personal opinion is it is none of their business !!!
Thanks again

AngrySparrow,
Thank you so much. Its nice to know we have a support system. I know what you mean about the seizure thing. I take meds for it. I have NCS which is hard enough to deal with and the docs were trying to see if I only had NCS. But, being taken off seizure meds didn't help, I had a loss of awareness, who knows if I have both ?? Good luck with your job search !!! An employer would be smart to hire you !
Oh boy

This response will not be popular but you asked.
Don't know if it is common practice for this employer to do a pulse check and listen to your heart beat at a desk. That is something you would have to find out, but if that was all, I wouldn't consider that a physical.
You lied when the Doctor asked you about any medical problems so I'm going to assume then that you lied on the job application?? And now based on what you said you are stressed out.... "I was shaking so, so much to be put in this position". You put yourself in that position by not being honest. You don't need all that self induced stress. It's a credibility issue now and I'm not sure how you recover from it.
Life is easier when you are honest. jmo
Good luck,

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
I can tell...

You were uncomfortable with it, I sensed you are stressed.
Sparrow knows better than I about the ADA and privacy rules. And now they offered you permanent employment....good for you. What do I know?? lol
I hope it all works out for you.
