Hello all,
This is really not a pacemaker issue, but has anyone ever been told the have "inverted T waves" from their EKG report.
I just had an EKG last week and the "inverted T waves" showed up. This never happened before. I'm going to have another follow up. My doctor said it could be viral related, but I'm going for tests.
Just wondering if anyone else ever had this.

ER Error !!
by donb - 2013-09-20 10:09:02
Hi Casper, Many years ago with my 1st pacemaker I ended up in ER because of flu episode. The attending Dr. was very upset with my EKG readings & ordered Heparin injection. My wife (cardiac nurse) challenged him Don not needing this mediction. "War" started as he replied, "Your Dad will die if he does not get this med " She replies, "First of all he's not my Dad, he's my husband & he's not about to die".
I was admitted to Cardiac floor & my attending nurse naturally went to attach a monitor finding only that the leads were put on wrong giving Inverted T waves having a pacemaker.
About a year later at my GP Dr's appointment a young nurse did my routine EKG. Yikes, she was also flustered. I just replied "That big lump in my chest where you stuck a sensor pad is where I keep my billfold".

Aspirin definitely won't cause it. Hopefully it's much ado about nothing. Keep on jogging!
Multiple things

Could be several things here, Inverted T-waves are not ideal, I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully its just a fluke or caused pharmacologically.
Sometimes inverted T-waves are a totally benign condition, in either case you are going to probably get a whole slew of tests in the near future to figure it out.
Yikes!!

Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, I know it's not pharmacologically, I'm not taking any medication right now, except for an aspirin from time to time.
I'm active and like to jog a lot.
I'll see my doctor next Tuesday.
Thanks for your reply.

Inverted T waves

I had inverted T waves.....making the story short I had 3 blocked arteries. 2 they could fix 80 and 70% respectively.....the3rd one is only blocked 30%. I did not have an actual heart attack...all I had was a feeling of being unwell and having it checked out. I now have 2 stents and a St Jude pacemaker. Also Ventricular Tachycardia and Bbradycardia, the pacemaker is set at 60bpm's.

INverted T waves

Casper - suggest you Google on "Inverted T waves". You will get a flurry of hits - all w/ decent explanations.
Can mean many things from serious to not serious. Any time a T wave looks funny, a cardio looks funny because of the many reasons for it.
I had an anomaly in mine & it got me the next available stress test - meaning in the next hour if it were available. Mine was a single one, & not seen since. Perhaps that will be your situation. But - go read about It, see how it all fits your situation, then come back w/ questions.
