Hi, just checked out your Bio. Looks like you're about the same age as I was when I had my 1st pacemaker implant. Fortunetly I've been getting by with just a dual chamber pacemaker which isn't near as bulky as an ICD. As I've gone through both left & right chest sites with 5 pacemakers and my body has near zero fat which calls for all kinds of pain.
As you said it's been 3 months you should have your site settle down. But, depending on your body build & having this bulky implant would take longer depending ;how active you are with upper body activity. As I've gone through 3 erosion problems on both left & right chest sites along infection with my last implant.
I have learned not all Cardiologists are experts in doing implants so it's important to keep your site under observation if you see any swelling & red area around your implant. I have always been a "skinny" bull with activity which gave me sleepless nights. Also after 21 years of PM life I can sleep on my back if I ;have to.
Lastly I kinow if would have had your ICD implant with my skinny frame, my comfort level would not have been great.
Also don't rely on ER Drs. for checking your site. You might have to shop for another surgeon if your site doesn't clear up "SOON". Good Luck !! Any Questions, Private Message me anytime !!

Normal Feeling

I had that burning/stinging feeling for over 3 months. Not sure when exactly it went away, but it did. They told me it was my body getting used to having a foreign object in there and everything was adjusting, stretching around it. And a bit of healing from the incision with scar tissue.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Mee too

If it hurts that bad, there is probably something up, go see your doctor.
Could be infected
Doctor could have made the pocket too small
Could be aggravating your nerves
When in doubt...get it checked out
