Hi All
Thank you SO much for all your fast replies to my urgent post yesterday. I really appreciate all your help, advice & support.
By the time I went to bed last night I'd made my decision.."I need to be referred to my cardiac hospital so that I'm in the right place if I need gynae surgery, with my PM (& being PM dependent)".
I saw the female GP this morning at our GP surgery. What a lovely Dr. She was so nice, very calm & soft voice, young-ish, very knowledgable & up-to-d...

My daughter was diagnosed with bradycardia at 7. She has complete heart block. Now her cardiologist thinks it is time for a pacemaker. He wants to have the leads sewn onto her heart and implant the pacer into her abdomen. I guess this is a fairly common surgery, but the thought of my little girl going through this has me tied in knots. The surgery is scheduled for June 6. I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance. This is hard for the whole family. No one wants her to have to go...

It's been a while since I've posted but thought I would give a quick update for those that helped me through that rough patch shortly after I had my PM put in.
After the 6 weeks of misery with horrible palpitations after the PM implant my doc finally adjusted settings and things got MUCH better. I let that go but was still having problems and was able to get back in to see the doc again. After a 4 hour wait to see him he refused to make any adjustments to the rate response which is wh...

HI,
I'm a 32 year old woman who has had three ablations for inappropriate sinus tach, the last one left me in junctional bradycardia. After watching it for 3 months it was decided that it was time for a pacemaker, I had a boston scientific single lead atrial pacing only pacemaker implanted in early January. I had my three month post implantation check up today everything looks good but I have developed a murmur in the last three months. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Back to exercise.

Hi all, I am new here......
My Bio will give you a clue to my back ground, my pacemaker, or the need for it has all been a shock. 2 months ago I thought the best part of me was my heart. Resting pulse 48 . It went out rhythmn while out jogging and was dropping to 26bpm. I ended up in hospital next day but it went back into rhythmn on its own. It did the same thing a couple of more times while cycling, but went back on its own. 2 weeks ago, after seeing Consultant he said a PM was the way f...

I was release from the hospital Monday afternoon. Got home and just had to lay out a couple days.
Well, the transplant team came in before cutting me loose. They dropped the bomb on me and my wife. I should of saw this coming months ago.
At this point, I'm listed as 1B on the transplant list. Been listed for almost 2 years at this level. I asked them if they were going to relist me up to 1A. That is when they told me and the wife that due to me loosing so much weight, they...

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me?
I have a Sorin Reply DR lodging nicely in my chest (!) since May 2012. No problems to report so far.
Just been to the dentist for a check up and a clean......and was told that the current advice (from Dentist HQ) was not to use an ultrasonic cleaner as they may interfere with a pacemaker.
Is this true?
I have contacted Sorin direct for more info but was interested if anyone else had had a similar problem.<...

Just wanted to let you know how it went yesterday!
Everything went A-OK they were able to find one of the problem spots immediately and ablate it. which uncovered another problem which they were able to fix as well. There is a problem on the other side of my heart that they weren't able to get to and in about 3 weeks they're going to run a holter again and see--if i'm still having problems --If they can't get that and I'm still having symptoms They might have to do a PM and drugs --but for...

Wow!!!! What a quick response from so many of you. I'm going to like this group. My Drs did explain how a PM worked but I was skeptical. You confirmed his explanation I was cardioverted today...now I have get the fluid off my lungs. I'm 65 and have been dealing with this since I was 40 and to my amazement, I'm still learning. Thank you all for your help. Ill be back!!

Hi all. Just as things were going well..........
I am devastated & need some urgent advice please.
OK, first bit is a bit embarrasing! This morning in the shower I discovered what I think is a prolapse in a female region (bit embarrased, you'll have to use your imagination!). It was a huge shock!!
I've spoken to my GP surgery & as my GP is a male & I feel really embarrased, they said I could phone in the morning & see a female Dr there. I really like my own GP &...

I'm only 4 days from having my PM inserted, but my doctor wasn't clear on when I could go back to work. I have a very demanding job (I Love!) that involves physical work, but much of it is computer work. I just got the warnings about lifting my arm, but no indication of when I should get back to work. I'm pretty wiped out if I do much around the house, but going a bit stir crazy wondering when I'll feel better. Also the people at work need to know when I'll be back. I should also say that...

Well folks we should have left on our log trip last week but fate dictated otherwise. I have to see the specialist in Hobart on Monday regarding surgery which will be about mid May. As it is too dangerous for me to suffer another bout of cholangitis the surgery will be to join my liver duct directly to my bowel. To say I am scared stiff is an understatment.
On 6 May I see the lung sp again to monitor the node in the top of my left lung. I have to have a CT scan a couple of days be...

Hi, anyone in my neck of the woods ? my home city is sheffield and the cardiology unit i am under is the northern general.
Are there any other members under that hospital, i had my st.Jude fitted in may 2012 and had a AV Node Ablation done in January, everything went really well and after my visit to the cardiologist yesterday (22/4/2013) got the news everything is well and going to plan.
Hoping to hear from someone.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
