Since I have had my ICD implanted in 2009 I am careful about what I do. Of course the warnings say don't weld but I have had absolutely no problems. I don't do it on a daily basis but have had days where I am welding on and off for 6hrs. A lot of it the manufactures playing it safe. When I did talk to the doctor about he didn't like the idea but suggested I should keep track of the days I do and if something feels funny while welding to stop right away. I feel safe in what I am doing but I also am using just a small welder (250 amp). When I do get the device checked and there are noises recorded I always know the dates that I have been welding to check to see if that was the cause. So far so good.

You know you're wired when...

Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.
