Changed Doctors

It's been a while since I've posted but thought I would give a quick update for those that helped me through that rough patch shortly after I had my PM put in.

After the 6 weeks of misery with horrible palpitations after the PM implant my doc finally adjusted settings and things got MUCH better. I let that go but was still having problems and was able to get back in to see the doc again. After a 4 hour wait to see him he refused to make any adjustments to the rate response which is what was causing the problems and discomfort. He said the RR was causing it but still would not adjust.

Frustrated, I ended up going to see another cardiologist / electrophysiologist. Told him my problem, he actually turned the RR off and told me if I had ANY problem to get back in to see him. Went back 2 weeks later for check up and all is well. Long story short, I now have a new cardio doctor. I'm feeling pretty good except for a little tiredness. Most of the time I don't even know I have this PM. Thanks again to all who helped me through that rough patch a few months back. I was really getting desperate. Still can't believe my doc let me suffer with that when all it took was a couple of clicks to make a couple of adjustments that stopped those PVCs I was having.

Really, the only thing going on now is I'm having shoulder trouble. My chiropractor thinks its the rotator cuff? I have those type symptoms but have also been told it could be frozen shoulder. My range of motion is pretty limited and depending on what I do with my arm I can experience some pretty intense pain. My new cardio doc says it "should" clear up by itself and to leave it alone. My chiropractor gave me some exercises to do that help some but it's just not getting much better. I'm about 7 months out from the PM surgery. Anybody have any thoughts about this?

Good job going to a new cardiologist! I'm so glad you found one who would work with you! Isn't it great when you're settings are finally right?

As for the frozen shoulder, I had that several months before my PM, and because you can't move your arm too high for a while after your PM, it got worse.

My doctor gave me some exercises to do, and I also went to YouTube and did some that I saw there. I also concentrated on rotator cuff exercises with weights, but did everything else I could find out there as well. I also got a massage here and there, and she worked on it too.

It's tough to work on by yourself, but it can be done. I'm not sure I agree with your doctor on the "it will clear up by itself". Mine didn't. I had to work on it several times a day (only a few minutes each time.)

If you can't find any good exercises out there on You Tube, private message me and I'll look up the ones I did and pass them on to you.

My doctor couldn't believe how well I did on my own as far as healing it with exercises. My massage therapist was surprised too! They said most won't do it because it's so uncomfortable while you're doing it. It hurts like hell when you're doing it, trust me! I used to cuss every time I was doing them, and my husband would just walk by and smile. LOL!

Good luck!

I go to the chiropractor on a regular basis anyway so I asked about the shoulder trouble there. My cardiologist told me he had seen many people who had shoulder trouble after a PM implant go to an ortho doctor and things just got worse. I guess it depends on who you talk to and the experience you have. Anyway, I know I can't go on with my shoulder the way it is.

I would appreciate any exercises you all have done that helped. The ones I am doing have given me a little mobility back but the pain is still pretty bad sometimes.

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate and trust your input. Better to hear it from someone who has been through it.

I see I have a private message. Maybe it's one of you!
Thanks again!!
