Just passed passed the 7week mark for my pacemaker.
Thought I would really test things out (see my previous post on my return to competative masters cycling a couple of weeks back).
Just returned last night from a very heavy 9 day business trip to India. Managed to spin bike almost every day and with mostly 16 hour days. ?...how did my new digital friend go?
Perfect, I must say this is the best I have felt in 5 years...whilst bring an experienced India traveller, I was a l...

I am 60 and have only had my PM for 6 days now. It is CRT-D if that make a difference in the answer to this question. I drive an hour to work and slightly over an hour back home. I am left handed and the PM is on the left side. Still having some pain that last for a couple of hours. I have enough time to take off, but has anyone just worked 1/2 days for awhile and if so, how long? My job is stressful but I am slowly dealing with that. There are a lot of deadlines to meet....

My son is teenager, recently he fainted and got injury, when consulted the Doctor, after Holter mapping, they advised to go for a Pacemaker. His lowest pulse rate is at 40 during night. I am deeply worried and in deep sorrow to hear this. Please advise if any alternate methods to cure bradycardia without Pacemaker. Pls help.

Hello
This is going to be quite a long post so here goes.
I need some advice please about having a pacemaker fitted.
My history is that I have had AF for several years diagnosed by wearing an event monitor. I lived with it OK and took no meds. About 9 months ago I started to get a few dizzy spells, felt slightly breathless and fainted once so my GP put me on Flecainide and referred me to a cardiologist. The dizzy spells have stopped due I suppose to the Flecainide although...

I want to thank you all for your replies about my above situation.
Unfortunately at fracture clinic yesterday, nothing had changed on the xray so I have to have the cast on for another 4 weeks. There is a problem tho, I informed the doc in clinic that undernear the cast on the other side of my foot to where it is broken it is quite sore, the cast has started to get loose hence rubbing on my skin, the doc did not seem to care and just said he would see...

I'm 34 and just had a pacemaker implanted on Feb. 1st of this year. I just received my Latitude Communicator from Boston Scientific. I read in the booklet, that you can purchase a cellular data plan through them if you don't have a landline. It didn't have any information about it. I called the 1-800 number, but they are closed for the weekend. I was curious if anyone uses this plan and approximately how much it costs and if its reliable.
Thanks in advance,
Tiffany M. :-)

As a new member of the club, I hope to be able to contribute as well as learn from others while dealing with this New stage of my life. As I research pacemakers, I'm finding that I am going to have to make some lifestyle changes to stay healthy. My biggest concern now is exercising and weight control. If any one has any tips I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

The first two times I have felt this I called 911 and was admitted both times. PM interogated and minor adjustments. Nothing else found wrong. But it feels to me like the PM starts fighting with my heart and my beats are all over the place...I get dizzy, lightheaded, then my B/P rises a bit...not high, but for me it much higher. I took an Ativan just in case its an anxiety attack...but it doesnt start off like one...who knows...i'm so sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I have had my...

Just checking in. Hope everyone is doing fine. Myself, I been having a few "good" days which is a good thing. Only bad thing going on it that the new hickman is already pluged. I have a doctors appointment on the 22nd and I'm sure they will not be happy at all. It lloks like they will have to put another one in. This time fishing it into the left side of my chest if they can get it around the pm wires.
Oh well! LOL
Take care and God bless,
Paul

Hi Sandrina,
please do not worry you will be fine. i had a pacemaker fitted two years ago and have never felt better. I exercise by playing golf, swimming, sailing, walking, cycling, tennis etc. My friend who is younger than me had one fitted at the same time and he was back playing squash and tennis in 3 months. I never think about it now although I have to admit to being very nervous and having panic attacks for the first few weeks. Also every little twinge was worrying but now I never ever t...
