Hi there my very good friends. I have a very simple question, funny in one respect but I broke my foot 2 weeks ago and in plaster of paris from toes to knee. I dont know what happened one minute i was walking down stairs at home, next minute i was at bottom of stairs.
At hospital, xrayed it and said it was broken, hence the plaster of paris, what I want to know is, i have to go to fracture clinic in morning where I am hoping they will take it off, they use an electric saw which vibrates and i am wondering whether this will be allowed with me having a pacemaker. Tried to ring my pm clinic but it busy everytime.
Any info would be greatly appreciated

cabg patch, angrysparrow, and donr
I want to thank you all for your replies about my above situation.
Unfortunately at fracture clinic yesterday, nothing had changed on the xray so I have to have the cast on for another 4 weeks. There is a problem tho, I informed the doc in clinic that undernear the cast on the other side of my foot to where it is broken it is quite sore, the cast has started to get loose hence rubbing on my skin, the doc did not seem to care and just said he would see me again in 4 weeks,. hec how much more suffering,

Cast removal

Suzy: If UK cast removal saws are anything like those used in the US, it's a "Not to worry" situation.
Our saws oscillate; are driven by either electric motors or air driven motors & have a vacuum hose to collect the dust as it is generated. The saw is on the end of a shaft far enough away from the motor to keep any stray fields from affecting the PM.
I've had at least 20 cast removals from my left foot w/o any effect at all.
Relax, plug your ears & enjoy the relief of seeing your foot again.
