My mom just flew for the first time after having a pacemaker put in in August. She feels dizzy, nauseous and was vommiting and can barely walk without assistance because of these symptoms.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it the pacemaker or related to the pacemaker?
She is 75.

Hi All. Merry Christmas Eve. I posted a couple of evenings ago that I am a new PM wearer having the device (a Medtronic) implanted last Monday (today is 24th). Here's where I'm having problems. I have had for years chronic lower hip and back problems due to improper alignment, therefore I'm very familiar with all symptoms and pain sources. When I was released from hospital on the 20th I had lower back/hip pain and severe stiffness which I attributed to lying flat on my back for so long. Th...

Hi, my name is Lee and I had a double wire pacemaker fitted in 2008, and ever since then I have become very sensitive to temperature. It's like my internal thermostat has been wound up about 5 degrees, I hate summer now. Anyone else have side affect.

Hi guys,
I have had my pacemaker for about 5 months. Its doing great, heart rate is 60 with 120 max and I’m 31 years old. In the last 3 months I have had 4 times where I get a little cloudy vision and can’t see well (like you have been staring at a light). It wears off after 30 mins or so and doesn’t hurt, etc.
After some research, I found this is a symptom of migraines called photophobia. I noticed that I’ve only got this issue since my PM so I g...

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all you guys out in the WWW, you are a real help to me. I have had my PM 6 months now and its been quite a rollercoaster ride. I collapsed with a suspected TIA exactly one year ago tomorrow (aged 41) and the problem was eventually put down to Wenckeback's glorious heart block !!! Since having the PM I have had lots of pain around the site and worryingly sharp (jagged) type pains in the heart area / centre of my chest. Each time I'm checked I am told 'everyth...

Since getting a really bad flue about four days ago, I can feel my heart beating irregularly and experiencing dizziness when sitting...not when lying down or moving around, just sitting-and it happens about every 30 seconds. I had my pacemaker put in at the end of August 2011 and experienced this to a lesser degree at the time for about a month. October and November have been great, with me feeling perfectly normal, and now this. I don't have a family doc, well I just got registered with one sta...

Guys I have posted about the above before on the forum, I am looking for any information on the above condition.
I have been attending the PM Clinic since having my PM implanted in early 2010, the problem that I have is that I am still experiencing dizzy spells. The Pm tech has check & changed my setting, to no avail.
I had a further meeting today with the Pm tech and he has now suggested that I may have the wrong PM for my condition! What he did mention was that there is a St Ju...

i am so glad to have found this site. I am a 70 yr old who had a pacemaker placed in 2006 after a 5 way bypass and aortic valve replacement. I have finally gotten past several stents but continue having pain over the site of the pacemaker and have intermittent severe chest pain (like heart attack pain) at the area of the site. After many tests and hospital visits they said it is not heart related but have no clue what it is. so now i am thinking it is scar tissue and nerve related as cathryn h...

Hi I am 4 weeks post op for my dual chamber PPM insertion. Its been really good, starting to get a bit sore around the incision yesterday and now is slightly red around the edges and a bit warm.
I feel fine in my self, no fever, but i am a little tired. Should I be concerned?

I had a pacemaker inserted at the end of October 2011. From the morning following insertion, I have had periodic pain that seems to be in my lungs and throat.
The cariologist and my internist had no idea, they said, what the problem is.
Should any of you have any information on this, I would be very appreciative of having it.

Have a Medtronic Model 5076-58.
Interested in the depth I can dive.
Medtronic says 2.5 atm (absoute) or about 49 ft.
Has anyone dove with a pacemaker?
Does anyone know the safety limits built into the device?
Any reaction on the case other than compression of the case?

It was 10 years ago when I learned that I needed a pacemaker. It floored me, and I could not believe it. I was only 41 years of age. I did not want people to know what I was going through. I have had a few setbacks with having a pacemaker.
On June 28, 2011, I received a new pacemaker. Ever since that day I have been experiencing sleeping problems, soreness, shocking pain and can’t sleep on my left side. I have spoken to my cardiologist and he says the body is getting...
