Hi, my name is Lee and I had a double wire pacemaker fitted in 2008, and ever since then I have become very sensitive to temperature. It's like my internal thermostat has been wound up about 5 degrees, I hate summer now. Anyone else have side affect.

i think that we are susceptible to the cold when our heart is beating too slowly so once we get the pm we probably only feel the heat the same as other people, but we just arent used to it.
You know you're wired when...

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
Yes:)

Yes, it seems to be a common complaint, but I've never asked my cardiologist why. I'm guessing that now that I have better circulation - that is why I can't handle the heat like I once did.
Not everyone experiences this, but quite a few members have mentioned it, especially women.
I find that when I am outside (gardening for example) that I can't stay outside as long as I once did, so I do most of my gardening in late afternoon or early morning. I just hate the feeling and my heart feels like it's working harder.....and I'm thinking of going to the Dominican Republic for my 50th in March and am wondering how I will do. However, I went to Mexico 6 yrs ago and did fine.
Perhaps we need to drink more water when we are outside now that we have the pacemaker, just a guess.
Take care,
Pookie
