Passing Out Again

You need to see your doctor. Your pacemaker could need some adjustments, but low blood pressure or A-fib can also cause passing out, just to name the ones I know about. Just don't wait to see if it happens again as the next time could be at the worst time for you, say like driving down an interstate or in a school zone.

Just curious, but why did you need your pacemaker to begin with? Do you have low blood pressure? Perhaps you got up too fast? Are you on any new meds?

For safety reasons, I would be insisting that you be seen asap by whoever takes care of you & your pacer.

Not all good things come to those who wait......just saying:)

Please keep us posted??????

Take care,

Has happened to me also

I'm 26 and have had mine a few weeks. I blacked out cold 2 hours post op. ive had 18 "spells" since my surgery. I needed my pacer due to my heart rate being in the 30s. I also have Neurocardiogenic Syncope. When I blackout my vitals stay perfect too. The team of doctors I've been working with have found a combination of meds that are helping with my spells. Haven't had any in a couple weeks. So if it happens again I would maybe talk to your doctor about additional Syncope issues. My pacer took care of one issue but I had multiple, you may be the same and not know it.

Thank you so much for all your advice and concerns. I called my heart doctor after posting this and they said it to go to the er right away and get my vitals taken. I did and everything looked fine. I did it call it in from home on my monitor that morning, so just waiting on that. But my blood pressure was fine and I'm not on any medications. They said I could of been just exhausted, so still not for sure on the reason. Very interesting haven't passed out like that since I had my pacemaker implanted. But on the bright side I didn't hit my face this time just my arm :)

passing out

I also passed out post op......went to Westchester Medical Center in NY and brought all the EKG 's and he looked at them for less than a minute and said I was misdiagnosed. I did not have bradycardia, I had neurocardiogenic syncope, I had a Medtronic pacer put in and have not fainted in the 12 years that I have had it. I still suffer from the awful spells, and there is nothing that can be done...I am not in the process of having mine adjusted. I am having too many drops. Good luck and take care of yourselves.
