I know I post a lot of messages on here and I'm sorry for over running the boards with my questions. I already have anxiety but when I feel bad it gets worse. I called my doctors office the other day with the dizziness I was having and the nurse called me back today and only said my body is probably just getting adjusted. I know I'm not the doctor but that just doesn't sound like the problem to me.. I felt bad today when I woke up but then I started feeling better. Well just a lit...

I had my double lead pacemaker inserted 10/05/16. I am looking for a female in her mid to late 60's that is in the beginning of recovery phase to become a phone buddy with me.
If there is anyone out there interested, please let me know.
Thanks
Tomorrow is the big day

Well I am down to the day before surgery. Trying not to freak out but it's hard. Glad I found this forum to help me with the journey. I took the rest of this week off and next week from work. Does that sound about right? I do office work but it is pretty stressful at times. My doctor said a few days but that sounds a little soon to have it done on a Wednesday and go back Monday.
Just have alot going on in my head today. ...

My mom is due for a pacemaker replacement. She is 73. She is recently widowed and I live many states away. What should we expect for recovery? Do I need to be there with her 24/7 or can I have her friends check on her? She's very healthy otherwise - she lifts weights 3 x week and walks everyday, she can walk for 4 miles at a time!

Had double lead pacemaker inserted on 10/05. I am only taking my regular medications and have taken 1 pain pill at night (which is not strong).
My initial pacemaker's bottom number has been set at 60. (I was very bradycardia before that). No other adjustments have been made.
Also I was, and still am having PVC's. I could not be put on medicines before due to the bradycardia.
I have an appt on Wed., but no appt was set up with the cardiologist...

Hi! I am new to the board and of course new to a pacemaker. I had my two wire PM inserted 2 days ago. It was inserted due to bradycardia and arrythmias. The bradycardia is being resolved by the PM, but the arrhythmia remain until the doc puts me I am on Meds. I can hardly hold my eyes open and stay awake. Anyone experiencing the same problem?

I am 16 days post op. I have 2 little ones, I have started being more active. There has been 3 or 4 times where I've had to pick up my son, who is 1 1/2. I am not at the point in my recovery where I am supposed to be lifting anything, but I'm a mom to a baby so I had no other choice at the moment, he needed picked up. Last night my shoulder started hurting pretty badly, my PM is under my arm.. Today I am nauseous, exhausted, and just feel bad all around. I haven't felt this bad be...

My pm was implanted early last week for bradycardia/SSS. Recovery has been fine and I've been taking it easy and increasing my activity slowly. For the first few days my hr hung out around 60 at rest and raised to 60's-70's when I would get up. However, yesterday evening and all day today my heart rate has been racing every time I get up to the 90's-100's. Even at rest it seems higher today. Prior to surgery I was in the 30's-40's at rest and h...

My pacemaker incision has a puckered appearance. Most of the incision sites I have seen are flat. From what I have read, the ones that appear this way remain this way. When I went for my incision check, the only person I saw was the tech that did the interrogation. I asked her would it always look that way. She said yes. Has anyone got an incision with this appearance. Also Monday was 2 weeks for me. I still have pain at the site. Not terrible but enough to take something like a Tylenol. ...

How long did your doctor's tell you not to shower or take a bath after your surgery? Mine told me no showers or baths for 10 days, I could stay clean but don't get in any water and keep the wound completely dry. I've had my fiance washing my hair for me and of course ive stayed clean, but I really would love a REAL shower! Only 2 days to go! So I'm curious what everyone else's times were on them taking a shower!

I have gained about 7 pounds since surgery. There's nothing it can be other than fluid retention. My diet has been relatively the same, only less than usual. Can anyone recommend a good way to get rid of the excess water weight? I called my doctor's office and through the nurse he recommended I reduse my salt and water. I'm not getting much sodium and the water is necessary. Has anyone had success with over the counter diuretics?

The doctor had me sleeping on my back through September 22. I complaind of lightheadness and I attributed it to sleeping on my back. I literally hated going to sleep. Finalyy the nurse said I could start sleeping on my sides. The lightheadness is starting to disapear.

Hi everyone. I had my pacemaker surgery 8 days ago. The surgery and recovery was the most painful experience of my life. I was in the hospital for 2 days after the surgery. Today when I went for a checkup with my EP cardiologist. He asked me how I've been feeling and am I noticing an improvement with the pacing help. I told him that I'm not sure that I know when the device is pacing or not. Can you describe what you feel or notice when the device paces for you?

It has been 12 days since my surgery. Finalyl felt like cooking last night. I slept last night how I usually did on my day off. Correct hours and everything. The new heart rate seens strange to me. I feel it pick up when I wake up. It feels strange and honestly I am not used to it yet. Doesnt feel normal. Although I guess it is more normal than what I had. I try to tell myself this is how it is supposed to feel. This is the feeling of getting more blood pump out as it should be. Since I wasnt...

It's been 2 days and I have yet to be able to get out of bed except to go to the bathroom. I can only sit up in bed for a few minutes before I get tired and need to lay down. I sleep all day long and only awake for short times. When will I start feeling normal? Able to stay awake? Or even just be able to walk through the house? The PM was placed close to my armpit, and he told me the recovery would be longer. This was also my first time being put to sleep with anesthesia..

My first PM was put in 3 yrs ago. It never worked properly (had to crank the juice way up for it to capture). I needed it replaced after only 3 years due to low battery. What should have been a simple generator change has turned into 3 VERY scary months. The new generator site became infected. Finally the PM was visible so it had to be removed. I was in the hospital with a temp PM until they implanted the new one on the right side. It's been six weeks and it looks beautiful and is working...

I had my pacemaker implanted yesterday, dual chamber, and he put it close to my armpit for cosmetic reasons.. Did anyone else have theirs put there? He warned me the recovery would be harder on me, I can't even get out of bed hardly.. Very sleepy and sore..
