PM location?

I had my pacemaker implanted yesterday, dual chamber, and he put it close to my armpit for cosmetic reasons.. Did anyone else have theirs put there? He warned me the recovery would be harder on me, I can't even get out of bed hardly.. Very sleepy and sore..

PM location

The bottom of my PM is about 1 inch from my armpit.  I'm not sure how that compares to your placement.

Mine was definitely achy and sore as it healed and still does ache from time to time as I become more active.  It has definitely gotten better as the weeks go by though.  (7 weeks post op today)

The 1st week was the hardest, especially the first 3 days.  Keep the ice on, take your pain meds, hug pillows to get comfy and sleep in a recliner if you need to. (I did) Eat healthy, keep a positive attitude.  You made it!! The surgery is over & now on with recovery and soon you will be feeling great!!

Mine is also very close to my armpit.  I'm 6 weeks out from surgery. At first it was very tender, but actually now, the scar looks good and I can wear a scoop neck and you would never see anything.  My arm still hurts a bit, but honestly, I feel great!  You have to be patient and really take care - no lifting or reaching.  Rest and take care. Sleeping is a little hard at the beginning but you won't believe how fast you heal.  Pillow are a realy help!  All the comments above are what I would say!
