Today has been a rough day for me, tomorrow makes 3 weeks after surgery, well I have been out of breath climbing the stairs on my porch today, (6 steps) and Every time I stand up from sitting or laying down a huge wave of dizziness hits me and I have to brace myself on something so I won't fall. I feel like I am about to faint when this happens. My face feels hot, I took my temp it's normal so I'm thinking my blood pressure is high. I just don't feel right at all. Do I need to make a trip to the ER?

You're having a rough adjustment with the PM but I promise it will get better. I had the same thoughts as CajunGirl: sounds like LOW BP. Are you taking any meds at this time? Just being the mother of toddlers is exhausting let alone post PM surgery. Granted, I have kids your age so I'm a lot older than you but I was exhausted, dizzy, SOB etc for what seemed like forever. But it all got better in time. What's your diagnosis? They will, no doubt, keep tweeking your device until you feel better. And each adjustment can take a week or two to get used to. Just don't fall! I hope you have family or friends nearby that are helping you a bit. You need it!

Getting dizzy

I am just a few days post op of PM implantation. I know the PM is stopping the slow pulse. I know it won't stop the irregular heart rates and I am sure that is where some of my SOB comes from. My medical doctor has been in control of my blood pressure. For some time he has had me take and record my blood pressure and pulse three times a day, lying, sitting and standing. When there is a drop of 20 points or more of the top number between position changes, this is called orthostatic hypotension and can cause dizziness. When changing positions (i.e. Getting up from chair). Stand a minute or so before walking. Sometimes meds can be the problem. I would call and discuss it with my MD or schedule an appt. If things get to bad, you can always go to the ER.
