Hi everyone! I just became a member about 5 minutes ago and I already have a question! My pacemaker was put in almost 4 months ago which means I am still get used to it. This evening after lifting plates for our dinner I started to feel a burning feeling in my chest. It is still there and gets worse when I move my arms. I could not lift my 5 year old son tonight. Is this normal? If so, I can tolerate the pain, but I just need to know. Thank you for time and reading this.

I have recently been experiencing a random, shooting/sharp pain that will last for a couple minutes at a time for maybe once or twice a day. I am not sure if this is normal or if there could be a reason why this happe...

Hi,
I just had my pacemaker put in 2 days ago. When I was looking through my discharge papers, I saw a note that the radiologist wanted to do another x-ray to rule out prominent pulmonary artery. This was never mentioned to me and when I called the Dr, she said not to worry, it's probably nothing. I'm starting to panic now because all I've seen on the internet about it sounds like it could be serious.
Also, I've been feeling and audibly hearing my heartbeat down low under mt le...

Hello, I have 5 months with my pacemaker. Everything was going well however today I felt like an electric shock sensation. It was a weird, different feeling. It kind of left me shaky. Has anyone experience this? If yes, why does one get that feeling? Thanks in advance

Has anyone had a problem while traveling in a car (bus, train, plane, etc.), with vibration triggering your PM to increase your heart rate too much? I've had my PM two weeks, today was the first time I traveled by car on the freeway. The vibration set off the PM and my HR shot up to 102, I was a passenger riding in the back seat. This was not a pleasant experience, but as soon as we exited the freeway my HR went back to normal.

On August 21, 2015 I had open heart surgery to repair my mitral valve, close patent foramen ovale (PFO), and a septal resection to correct LVOT Obstruction. During the surgery the atrial lead from my pacemaker became dislodged and 3 days later I had more surgery to insert a new lead. Due to the septal resection, which probably removed my AV Node, I am now 100% pacemaker dependent.
I found out today I have Atrial Flutter (AFL). It was caught by the pacemaker technician while doing an i...

I had my pm implanted last week Friday. The surgery went well (besides when my IV fell out and I woke up in the middle of surgery) and I am mostly healed. For the first week though I had an annoying twitch whenever I did any physical activity which I later found out was because my leads were stimulating my diaphragm. They turned my voltage from 4 down to 1.25 and now I don't feel it but they called me yesterday and told me that I would need to have surgery to have that lead moved so they can tur...

So last night I went in to tachycardia and had to have cardio version. I thought I was dying. I came to the Er and there were a lot of people in my room, I was throwing up like crazy and they were going to do meds but went right to cardio version. It was scary but I didn't even know it happened. I felt like hell after and exhausted but my heart is now back to the 70's and I am here being monitored. I was told I have been in and out of afibb and the type of tachy was on the left which is not comm...

I have junctional tach and now AV block so my RV is being paced more and more of the time. It makes me nauseous and by the end of the day, exhausted. Do others experience this? Prior to my PM 3 years ago I was a triathlete, very athletic. Now I feel hobbled. Quality of life has dramatically decreased. Sleeping 10 hrs at night, trying to find tolerable exercise. Considered His bundle pacing and a new PM sensor but my doc recently suggested a second opinion. I need help as to where to go. Where in...

My sister has a pacemaker and would love to be able to take Co Q10 however she has palpitations whenever she takes the tablets.
Has anyone else had this experience and is it the dose or is it something she will never be able to take?
She has cardiomyopathy and is a breast cancer survivor.

Thank you.

My PM installed Aug 25, 2015.
First problem was I had a large hematoma and had to be opened up again a couple of weeks later. That issue now seems to be resolved.
My concern now is I seem to have worse "shortness of breath" than before. Like, maybe the heart is not as efficient as it was before the PM was installed. Is this possible? An internet search found only one article specific to my problem: Study Links Heart Damage to Pacemaker, 2002, http://www.nytimes.com/2002/12/...
