Hi, i am 23 and recently got a Pacemaker in April. I am having complications within my chest and site area. The best i can describe the pain is a stabbing feeling directly from my pacemaker. Ive talked to my doctor and he says its a nerve complication. Im at a lost cause my friends and family dont know how to help me and im wondering if anyone else has had this problem? At this point i just want to know if im the only one who has felt this way. Thanks!

I had this happen and after 3 years they finally did a pocket revision and it has been pain free ever since. My insurance paid for mine so yours should as well. Since it is causing you so much pain. I hope you get relief soon.
Thanks!

Thank you so much for your feedback. I will be going to my cardiologist again next week to discuss pain management. Love this pacemaker community!

Is it off and on?
Does it feel like ant bites or a sharp needle suddenly sticking you? If it does it is most likely the nerve repairing itself after being cut. It can take of few months before it stops.

I am about 10 weeks post op and yes I had them and it was awful . It hurt so much especially when I would drive I would actually cry. I thought it would never go away and it did about 7 week mark. I had arm pain too. Now that the weather changed it is bothering me a bit. I think I need to cover it up or something.

pain

Oh heck no! It has been 2years for me. I am on a neuropathic pain med called gabapentin. My cardiologist ignored my pain for the first year. My gynecologist prescribed it for me. I was in pain 24/7. Yes, the damn thing can be sitting on a nerve! I am now going to begin the process of getting it repositioned under the muscle. not sure if insurance company will pay, but somehow I have also knocked it out of place. I have the wires protruding above and it is also closer to the skin. And the pain is increasing!
I hate to tell you this because when you first get it you are so traumatized the last thing you want to hear are compications. being in you first week bug your doctor to tell you what is going on and what can be done!
good luck, keep us posted and feel free to private message me (for more bad news!)
