I was happy to hear that you have called your doctor. Sometimes when we are feeling awful it is very easy to give up but doctors are so busy...we need to speak up for ourselves or ask a family member to be our advocate. We need to be proactive and make attempts in every aspect of our life to improve it...good luck and let me know how you make out at your next appointment. :)
Correction on Pacemaker Implant.
by ROBOTICKER - 2015-12-01 01:12:01
I was Mistaken. My Pacemaker was Implanted in 2011...
I lost my Job in 2012 When The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Changed The Laws, and I had to turn in My CDL To The Division of Motor Vehicles...
WOW!!! It's been that long... I've just realized I filled out over 130 Job Applications and/or Resumes since then...
I may have to face the reality that I'm Done...
I Want This Pacemaker OUT Too...

This Pacemaker Changed My Life For The Worse. After I lost My Job Driving Trucks in 2013, I was never able to find another Job that would Hire me with my conditions...
You see most of my life I Drove Trucks and/or Moved Furniture as an Interstate Tractor Trailer Driver... And when The FMCSA Changed The Laws? I Was Out of the seat forever...
Prior To having This Pace Maker Implanted, I was Diagnosed with Chronic Hypertension and Arthritis... My Blood Pressure stays in The The Range of 154/94 or 157/100... However, with the medication I'm Prescribed? I could keep it in the 140/90 range...
Enough to pass my CDL Physical... The Arthritis Pain I managed with Over he Counter Aspirin while I was driving, And Prescribed medication while I was Off... Which was hardly ever...
Now since I'm no linger able to Drive Trucks, and Because Of My Pacemaker and other medical conditions? I am Flat Broke. No one wants to Hire a 53 year old African American Man with So Many Medical Problems... When I was Working? I didn't need anything from anyone...
Now I'm having to take "Food Stamps" and Sell Things just to pay my bills... My Medical from The Job Ran Out, and I can't get any New Insurance... However, Good Thing My VA Benefits are there. They picked up where Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Company Dropped me...
It seems there's no getting around The Pacemaker. I can Fib about The Blood Pressure and Arthritis.. But NOT About The Pacemaker... Not Even Wal Mart Will hire Me..
If I could Just Get rid of This Pacemaker. I could return to my Old Life of Driving Trucks and Making a Darn Good Living... However, I can't find ANYONE To Take it Out... I Don't have The Money Now to Go Down to Mexico and Get It done, And The Veteran Administration Out Right Refuses to Remove it...
So I'm stuck in a Failing Life. Social Security Says, My Condition "Is Severe, but NOT Severe enough to receive Social Security Disability"... I've worked more than 30 years and contributed to SSI Just in Case of such an emergency... Now They Wont Help me...
If I Could Just get This Pacemaker Taken out? I could get back to my old Job.. I'd feel Better Taking My chances Working and Making a good living, And Risk Dying. Than Slowly Singing into poverty and Die Begging for Handouts...
However, If Things Get to That Point? I wont have to worry about having This Dam Pacemaker Taken out... Because I'll Solve The Problem Once and For All...
You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.
Don't give up...

I am so sorry that you have gone through some bad experiences with your pacemaker. If you are feeling pain...you must get it taken care of. Have you the option of seeing a different doctor? You would not have survived without your pacemaker...my heart relies on my pacemaker 100% now and I wouldn't be here without it...so many amazing things have happened in my life since my first pacemaker surgery in 1998...happy and sad occasions that I feel blessed to have experienced. Please don't give up. I have surgery tomorrow for my third battery and this time I have a wonderful, caring husband to be with me and take care of me...I never would have met him without my pacemaker. Call your doctor...or have someone in your family call..
