I searched the site and it seems that there's only one post about this issue. The post had 37 comments but I could only read the first page and can't find the button for "next page"...
Anyway, I sleep on the left side of the bed and my PM is on the left side. When I was on the hospital bed, I found it more difficult to get up from the right as I had to pull my left shoulder to the other side, so I got up from the left side.
However, it's easier there as the bed is adj...

My surgery went fine yesterday. It took 3 hours as the leads didn't send back the response my EP had expected so they had to put them in different places. Well, that's as much as I could understand when the doctor tried to explain to me when I woke up. But so far so good.
Except for the reaction to sedation drug yesterday and today, I've been feeling fine. My wound doesn't bother me that much and the nurse kept on reminding me to take painkillers to stay ahead of the pain.

I don't think I am.
Back from the 6 day business trip yesterday. For three days in a row, I had to be standing, talking and moving around all day. I was doing fine. I had a minor symptom one night, but just my usual, not so serious symptom---feel some pressure on my chest, can hear people speaking but not able to respond right away, and then my face flushes when the symptom is gone. I even started to think if it's my head making it happen as I was just wondering if I really need...

Hello Everyone,
My fiancee' has just completed her surgery on Tuesday and is still on the road to recovery. Issues she is facing is that she is feeling a swelling discomfort in her throat close to the site of the area. That wouldn't be related to air pocket problem or something more would it? She feels it when she is swallowing and breathing.

I hope everyone who helped me gets to see this message. Pacemaker club has the BEST people to help you through all this!
My St Jude QUADRA is in and it looks good. I feel fine--swelling and pulling of course--but that will abate. Don't know if it worked yet to alleviate all my previous symptoms, but I 'm thinking it might take time for my heart to get back up from the RF of 25%. Some dizziness still. Will see the doc for post visit next Friday. This time I will move my arm more so...

Getting ready to have a pacemaker inserted on Monday (02/09/15) for complete heart block (need two leads). I am scared to death about the procedure and what it will look like after. I am in very good physical shape and have never had a surgery like this. Will it show terribly after it has healed, what should I expect from those out there with experience in this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

A newbie to a group that none of us wanted to join. I'm a retired healthcare professional, so I knew a lot about what to expect. I'm also a Triathlete who has completed an Ironman. What can I expect about getting back to training. I want my life back, and hope that this will really make a difference. Have been pretty inactive over the last year due to the fatigue and SOB, but worry that my rate has only been set at 130 and may be restrictive.. My EP MD states that I am only the second athlet...

I have an implantation coming up.
1. Can someone tell me what to expect the day of and in recovery?
2. What brand of double lead PM do you recommend; which one to avoid?
3. Tell me about the process of regulating the PM after procedure.

My diagnosis is A-Fib and flutter. I have had two ablations and several Cardioversions. I have a problem taking antiarrhythmic drugs due to the side effects. The latest one tried was Tikosyn which I started last week without severe side effects but have felt absolutely lousy since I started it. I went in Thursday for a 1 week follow-up EKG and the Doctor's office called Friday expressing concern because the pause between my heartbeats is continuing to increase in length. They do not feel t...

My doc used super glue to hold my outermost incision together. I am one week out from the procedure and it is peeling off in large strips. Underneath is dry and no blood or pus or anything to suggest it is not healing quite well. Should I just let it come off as it chooses, even if it is all gone by end of week? Or should I call the EP and ask if he wants to look at it?

Hi-New member here. I'm a 43 year old female who had her first pacer implant this past Friday (1/16/15) for symptomatic bradycardia and multiple syncopal episodes. Recovery is going well so far, but I'm still unclear on how high I can raise my arm on the implant side? Can I raise my upper arm to a 90 degree angle to my body? The nurse just said, "not above your head for two weeks", but I'm seeing conflicting info on the internet. Thank you all. I am glad this forum is here!
You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.
