Still tender around the surgery area

Hello everyone,
I had my surgery on 11/25. No complications. Doc told me to resume everything after 1/15 visit. The area around my PM is still tender. Just wondering how long it would take for that tenderness to go away.

Thanks
Sri

Everyone is different

Everyone is different as to how they heal, how soon the nerves settle down. So it is really hard to give you an estimate. It was over 5 months for me before I'd let anyone close to the implant site. At ten months, I was still tender. At sixteen months, I'll still be sore if I do exercise I haven't done for a while.

Once the wound had healed, for me, cold and warm, dry compresses helped. Tylenlol helped for the stiffness.

Like I said, if I do exercise I haven't done for a while, the PM site will get sore. Then back to the Tylenol, cold and warm compresses.

I have been reading all these questions and some are of interest to me. This current question above with three comments is the only one I see that has three. Most have none and a few have one. I feel I need to ask the same question that I'm reading in hopes of getting an answer.

Mine Still Tender

My PM was "installed" in September 2014 and is still tender to touch. No pain, just faint soreness. The scar itches now and then too. I feel another month everything will be back to normal.

When Will It Feel Normal

by stricsm - 2015-02-06 05:02:33

Had my PM installed in Aug 2014. When I went in to have it interrogated for the first time, I asked the tech when it would feel normal. She said with a straight face - "about the time you need it replaced". It feels better now but I'm usually sore in the morning after sleeping on it all night or maybe my wife is hitting me during the night............again:-)

Thank you all

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I have to wait for few more months.

My pacemaker was replaced 12 days ago. The incision wound recovers fine.
