I just had my pacemaker resisted under my muscle (Monday 26th) still in a lot of pain, unable to move arm easily, turn over in bed etc. how long will this last roughly pls?xx

TraceyE always says it better than I do. I had a lot of trauma due to two rounds of CPR. Broken rib, etc. It took me three months to get to a lower pain level. But then, I had more trauma.
Three things I would add to what Tracey said. 1) Keep moving. You don't have to be doing much, but just keep in motion. You won't get stiff and sore as much. 2) The hug pillow really helped. Used to carry it around with me in case I needed to cough. And sleeping with it helped during the night. 3) Keep yourself hydrated using water. I drank 1/2 liter per 16 pounds of body weight per day. That seemed to help reduce being stiff and sore.
Oh, overall it was five months before I even attempted a "normal" routine and seven months before I got back to some kind of "normal" routine. So it's hard for me to be empathetic of your situation after four days. Sorry 'bout that.

Welcome! We are all built differently and heal at different paces so there's no one answer. I found I was pretty sore for about a week. I was off the presciption pain meds within a day or two other than at night, got by on tylenol during the day. After that, it improved quickly. I was able to get back to my usual schedule, just moving slowly and more carefully, after that first week. It was a good 3 months before I could bend/stretch in any direction or sleep in any position without feeling a twinge. I'm not saying it hurt for three months! Just that's how long until I didn't feel anything. Now, I don't even know it's there unless I do something to aggravate it.
Sleeping, I found it helped to hug a small pillow to my side. It supported the arm and kept me from rolling onto my sore side as soon as I fell asleep (I'm a side sleeper normally).
