Hi - I'm a 33 year old female who has bradycardia. My resting heart rate is around 40 BPM.
As a result i am often tired, if i sit down for half an hour to watch TV i usally fall asleep. I also get dizzy spells occasionally. My last 24 hr holta monitor also showed a couple of pauses during the night.
My cardiologist is suggesting i consider geting a pacemaker. At this stage, it is my choice as my low heart rate is not life threatening.
I'm just w...

No idea where to ask this question. Tonight my pacemaker site looks like it has a big dent in it. Instead of a smooth-edged slightly rectangular "bump", the outside edges are irregular and there is a noticeable dent in the middle. I have not fallen or been hit or anything. I feel fine... But this is weird! I'm sure it wasn't like this when I showered this morning. Anyone ever seen something like this? Because I feel fine, I'll wai...

Hello everybody.
I gave birth to my daughter Elizabeth 5 months ago. She was bien with congenital heart block due to antibodies fra my, at that time, unknown an unsympthomatic Sjogrens syndrome.
Our cardiologist says she was a A+ fetus, thinking of the diagnose and she was born in week 38+3. Delivered C-cesarian style. Her bpm in utero was never monitored below 75.
Now, as 5 months old she is happy, grows and developes perfectly and nothing indicates that s...

I had my PM put in October 11, 2017. I had bad symptoms of bradichardia - no energy , dizzy all the time - for months . I have had pressure in my neck since the day I got my PM. I'm on my 4th sensor setting , doctors seem to not understand or get it, and neither do PM device people who adjust. I have only had a handful of days that I felt good enough to resume "normal "activity in 15 weeks. I used to be a runner and was in great shape before this . Now w...

I'm new to the site... and reading most of the posting I rarely see any comments on driving your car.
I'm the fellow who was hit by lightning..... my pacer stopped !!! I'm fine now after having it re set, but my license has been suspended....3 months OR more.
In my medical report to the License people there is no mention that my pacer had stopped... I wonder why ?

Hello everyone.
Really wonderful club to help us all share our stories, support each other, understand, recover and cope with our lucky second chance at life.
Six months prior I was feeling very very tired and tight chest. Feeling very weak, exhausted everyday. I thought maybe I had become a workaholic.
Went to see my Doctor who prescribed me antibiotics twice thinking maybe a very bad chest infection.
Except blood tests , heart tests and chest xrays all came...

Hi all:
Well I just had a "tune-up" at my cardiologist and asked the tech about the micro pacemakers. She said 3 of their doctors were implanting them. She also said she understood they were considered "experimental" whatever that means... She also said she heard they only lasted about 2 years and she questioned why anyone would even consider implanting them... Sooooo...take this for what it's worth...She's not a doctor, bu...

mmmm, thanks robo pop and nice/niecey, for your input, not so sure about the other ole grump tho. I wont be posting again, as his tone has upset me enormously, and I certainly do not need nor deserve such an aggressive response, and he clearly has no idea how to be "helpful".. My husband is NOT able to sleep in any ole bed actually
Thanks again to the two other kind people who posted.
Goodbye and goodluck to all

My hubby is about to have a pacemaker inserted. He has many ailments, including very bad back pain. I need to know if he can sleep in an electrical mobility bed with a pacemaker. No one seems to be able to convince me it is ok, and yet hospitals are full of electrical beds. They don't have special beds for people with pacemakers do they? Any advice would be welcomed. thanks in advance

This issues comes up from time to time and I seem to be the only one it happens to but I travel outside the country a lot so I guess that’s the reason. HOWEVER, I was flying from Abu Dhabi to Chicago this week and two different times during my security screenings I was asked if I had my pacemaker card with me. And guess what? I didn’t!!! Neither person hassled me because of it (I do not fit the terrorist profile...

Hi everyone!
Im 32 years old (female) and had my first PM placed Dec 2017. I ended up getting the PM because I was bradycardic, ended up with low BP, and almost no SA node function constantly. I’m pacing about 20% of the time (in two weeks it paced 777 times). The cause seems to be idiopathic or genetic (I’m adopted so no way of knowing). I have a few questions and hope some of you can help me out. Thanks in advance!
1. My PM was placed sub pectoral - I...

I began my journey with the onset of severe AF on Christmas eve 2008. I was treated for an MI then had an angiogram confirming no blocked arteries.
The AF episodes continued, I was diagnosed with HOCM at London Heart Hospital in 2009, then had a septal myectomy and ablation in early 2010.
The AF continued so had a further ablation. With the AF still occuring, I had a biventricular pacemaker/ICD in late 2014 and then an AV node ablation.
Once all had settled down, i have had...

I had my pacemaker surgery last week for Sick Sinus Syndrome and Chronotropical Intolerance. I’m 44. I love to run, so I was interested to see what the rate would be when I went for a walk (I’m not allowed to run yet). I started out slowly and felt my heart beating rapidly. I checked the heart rate zones after the walk and the average was 145 with a maximum of 175. I wasn’t walking fast and didn’t get a sweat up. I usually get these results from a general run...
