I'm new to the site... and reading most of the posting I rarely see any comments on driving your car.
I'm the fellow who was hit by lightning..... my pacer stopped !!! I'm fine now after having it re set, but my license has been suspended....3 months OR more.
In my medical report to the License people there is no mention that my pacer had stopped... I wonder why ?

you earlier wrote a previous post that you also titled "Driving" where you say you couldn't drive for 3 months because your heart stopped after you had the flu bug. Now you say it's because you were struck by lightning??? Am I missing something here???

sorry for the confusion.... someone said the chances of a pacer stopping would be like getting hit by a bolt of lighting, well I got hit !
not your drivers license

Saw my cardo doctor today and he explained the refernce to the pacer stopping.... it never stopped but went into a non pacing mode as the heart send a FALSE BEAT which looked normal... which it wasn't . Well if that makes any sense ....I guess it does to the medical people.
Glad you got some answers today

I wonder if your doctor was referring to a PAC, preatrial contraction, or a PVC, preventricular contraction.

I think you are focusing on the wrong thing.
If you or your doctor don't know why the pacemaker stopped, and can't be sure it won't happen again, you reallly shouldn't be driving. If it were to stop again when you were driving you could kill yourself or others.
You need some answers. If you can't get any from your doctor, contact the pacemaker manufacturer. If they don't already know about your case, they need to know. If their pacemaker really can stop, just stop, with no warning, they could be in for some huge lawsuits.
