Head hurts and dizziness, trouble trying to recover

Hello everyone.

Really wonderful club to help us all share our stories, support each other, understand, recover and cope with our lucky second chance at life.

Six months prior I was feeling very very tired and tight chest. Feeling very weak, exhausted everyday. I thought maybe I had become a workaholic.

Went to see my Doctor who prescribed me antibiotics twice thinking maybe a very bad chest infection.

Except blood tests , heart tests and chest xrays all came back normal, cholesteral a little high but not that bad.

It was last year August 12, 2017 that I first experienced a synscope episode, very very scary. I had 5 episodes in the span of 3 days. I was wired up in hospital and hr went crazy up/down during these episodes!

I felt like I was going to die each time. The ambulance pharametics/ nurses and doctors all told me my condition was very bad. I overheard nurse telling doctor that she did not want me dying on her clock.

Thank God I am still here today, now trying my very best to keep positive and recover.

I had a full type 3 electrical heart block. I was in ICU in hospital for about 4 days with heart rate fluctuating 30 bpm and lower. Doctors said I had bradycardia aka slow heart beat.  My spacing between beats was very long.

Reason unknown, maybe old age at 54? I am male 6ft tall 220lbs. Somewhat overweight I guess.

They tried everything to get my heart rate back up, but unsuccesful.

They suggested to implant a dual lead medtronic pacemaker as my hr became to unstable to try to control.  My heart rate is now set for 60 bpm.

Unfortunately my right side of head hurts so bad 24x7. Hospital checked me out and say pm is okay, plumbing moderately blocked and heart is okay. I am on cholesteral meds Lipator 20mg and 81mg aspirin.

I am also very dizzy alot, and sometimes the synscope feeling seems to want to return and then goes away. Not like before. I also always now hear a high pitch sound 24x7.

I am going to see Neurologist February 6.

I also cannot feel cold/hot on front of my leg between knee and thigh. Doctors say maybe nerve damage due to surgery when they performed an angeogram to check for blockages prior to pm implant. They also had to implant a temp external pm to stabilze heart beat before permanent pm was implanted. Then the temp pm was removed.

Anyway I am having a really difficult time sleeping and trying to recover with all the head pain/high pitch tone in ears/dizziness and leg issues.

Please do not get me wrong. I am very grateful and thank God everyday that I am still alive, but very worried and frightened.

Has anyone experienced any similar issues after their surgery?

My family has a high rate of strokes and that worry also does not help me.

Sorry my comment was a bit long winded :)

Vince.

Or Vestibular Physical Therapy

I know, I never heard of it either.....until I needed it.  About 5-6 months ago, suddenly I would get dizzy while walking or moving my head around.  I would have to stop walking until it stopped.  When I put my head on the pillow, the room would spin for a few seconds until I focused and then it would stop.

My Cardio NP (the best) told me to go to an ENT doctor.  She said it sounded like Vertigo.  It was and he sent me for VPT.  Who knew??  The physical therapist said sometimes a few appointments is all that is needed.  Mine took a little longer.

Might help with some of your problems.  Good luck and keep us posted.
