No real problems so far

I've been on Rivaroxaban since they stopped making Nadolol available. I was put on too low a dose, but since we upped the meds there's been no problems.

What're your concerns?

Hi thanks for your reply,i came across many sites claiming that there are many law suites going on re deaths ,beacuse of there is nothing to stop a bleed out unlike warfarin,to be honest ive been on it for along time and it works for me,but when started to read up on it,there were many concerns,i guess its one or the other we die of a stroke etc or we die when bleeding out,oh such choices.thanks again.

Xarleto

I've been on Xarelto for several years. I do bruise easily and bleed easily if I cut myself, but I have had no problems, but do not fall.  I'm also on 325 mg aspirin daily as well (they each work differently).  There is no reversal for bleeding for Xarelto, like Vitamin K for warfarin. I believe Pradaxa has a reversal for bleeding, but I remember checking into it and it was over 3x the cost of Xarelto, and my insurance wouldn't pay much of it's cost, and Xarelto is expensive enough for me each month.

New NOACs

My mother (78 years old with tissue heart valve) is now on Apixaban instead of warfarin, and had headaches for ages after the switch but they eventually reduced.  She was stable on Warfarin, but I think she was switched because of a combination of avoiding regular trips for INR checks and also women in particular can have problems with bone weakening from long term warfarin use.

For me, I don't have the option of switching from warfarin anyway (I have a mechanical aortic valve and NOACs are not compatible with them), and also I use a home meter to do weekly INR checks by finger-prick, so staying within therapeutic range is easy for me.
