pacemaker site itching

Just joined so I could post this for those that are having this problem and did not know.

My wife just had a pacemaker installed and the itch was driving her crazy. Her Dr advised her try a benadril in conjunction with a zantac, sounds crazy but it works like a charm!

Is it working?

Since receiving the pacemaker on March 6, 2017 've been out of breath.  Three days ago let i snapped my fingers I felt entirely different, like my old self.

Over the past 3 to 4 years I had complained to my Doctors that when eating somthing and drinking a carbonated drink I would have a quick spell where I felt like i was going to black out, sometime worse than others, it could happen 3 to 5 times in an hour only when eating and drinking, but always went away however it would leave me with a headache if they were close togeather. I was 48 years old th...

Vibration

Pacemaker related!! Waking up breathless!!

Greetings all.  Ive had my pacemaker since 2012 and at my last check i was told I have about 6 months to a year left on the battery.

 

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the following.  I have had a couple of episodes recently of suddenly waking in the night struggling to breathe and needing to catch my breath.  I had something similar pre pacemaker insertion where my heart was stopping.  Next day chest feels very tight.

Undecided about a pacemaker

Hi, I have just turned 30 and live in the UK. Recovery

Hi everyone,

I had a cardiac arrest in april and an icd fitted in july this year.  Am still abit scared because my cardiologist has not given the go ahead on any exercise execpt walking.

I feel strong enough to go on a treadmill but my cardiologist said no, i have also tried to convince him that i need a stress test, he said i should wait for a follow up appt.  I saw the letter today and my follow up appointment is may 2018.

Noticeable heart feelings

I have had my pm since May of this year. I have had several noticible heart feelings that I never had before the pm. I'm curious, realizing we are different with our experiances with the pm, what can we expect to feel that we didn't used to? I have had hr speed bursts that have no reason for happening, that I know of. I could go from the 60s to over 120 for no reason other than a body position change. I was diagnosed with LBBB about 2 years back.  I went and saw a cardiologist who wanted to schedule me for a echo stress test and wasnt able to make it for the appointment because I was never showing any symptoms.   Last month I finally went to get the echo my  cardiologist told me the my EF is at 25%.  I was then reffered to get a angiogram which I did.  Nothing was found on my angiogram other than low EF so the interventionist diagnosed me of ideopathic cardiom...

light headed and nausous

Hi all.  Ok.  I will try to make this as short as possible.  I haven't been feeling well for the past about a month. My Job

I am a home health aid who must be able to lift 50+ pounds and be able to lift above head, sweep mop vaccum and help out the patient in any way with no restrictions.  I keep hearing that I won't be able to return to work because of what I do plus I have my Medical Assistant certificate.

Have any of you received a pacemaker to treat at least the HR part of vasovagal syncope?  Do you take meds in addition for the BP part?  Did you notice improvement?  How long did it take to improve and do you still have episodes just not as intense/no passing out?

Merlin

Good afternoon,

I have a Merlin 1150 transmitter, I also have a landline, I want to get rid of the landline and have been reading about using a wireless 

 

so my question is....

Have any of you connected your transmitter to a wireless adapter and if so, which one are you using?? I don't want to pay a monthly fee using St. Jude's adapter and the only calls I get on my landline are telemarketing!!

Got a love note from my Cardiologist late last night to my surprise. Came via their portal to my mobile phone (for those younger folks that's a cellular phone AKA cell phone).

I had responded to their automated reminder that I have an upcoming appointment and included a brief message as to what I'm experiencing so they can be prepared to discuss the issues while I'm there.

To the overseas pacemaker crowd. If you are overseas, Thailand, and will need a new Pacemaker or replacement pacemaker. Do not freak out about how to pay for it. If you are a service connected veteran. The VA, through the Denver office, has Direct Billing contracts here in Bangkok with Bangkok Hospital and the Bangkok Internation Hospital in Phuket. I recently, 5 August 2017, got a replacement done at Bangkok Heart Hospital and walked out without having to pay one penny, because of the VA.

I had my rate response turned off this afternoon as I drive over a road everyday and it was making me feel yucky! Now,I will try the road tomorrow. Neck pain

Hi all

I am on holiday in Europe and I have developed a new problem which is probably nothing to worry about but I am concerned. I had a dual lead pacemaker inserted six months ago. Just before I came away for 5 weeks I saw the pacer technician and the cardiologist because of shortness of breath and bilateral neck aches on exertion. My angiogram was fine 3 months ago but the cardiologist wants to do an exercise stress test  when I return ( he is on holiday too)....

Depressed

I need all the help you guys are willing to spare. I have to go to a pain clinic today, for back problems. ( another story, ) Well, as I was filling out the book of papers they sent me, I read over all the stuff I have. I know, I am 65, but till I re-read my list of conditions I felt ok.
