I wouldn't expect anyone to remember my ordeal of 3 months ago with all the posts on this forum but in a REAL SHORT version---simple generator change eventually got infected, lost pacer on left side, put in on right. All healed without incident. I feel great. It looks great. However...
It's been 3 months exacvtly and I've just started feeling a superficial "pulling" "tight" sensation above and towards the armpit. It just feels like a stiff muscle that aff...

Hi all,
I've been told by my cardiologist that I need a dual lead PM. SSS and heart block. Heart rate gets as low a 29. I'm a swimmer and golfer. I'm trying to come to grips with this and have a couple questions after reviewing this site.
Can you acutally feel the PM move around under the skin after implant? If so, is this permanent?
Is it uncomfortable laying on the side of the implant? I expect it would be soon after, but what about months after?
Is...

I'm really worried. I hav a single lead for SSS. After complaints of intermittent weakness, tiredness, a full feeling in head, headaches, and breathlessness my EP has told me a dual lead PM will fix all this. The tech said that sometimes it does and sometimes not. All I know is I'm not hitting on all six cylinders these days since my single lead implant almost 9 months ago. Not terrible, just not great. Not all the time, but episodes...

I see some questions about clothing post pacemaker implant. Shirts that button in front are pretty easy if you put arm on side of pacemaker in sleeve first then opposite arm, same with over the head shirts , put affected side in sleevethen head and last the other arm. In taking off clothing remember to take arm opposite pacemaker out first . As for Bras, Victoria Secret " body by victoria " bras have wide set straps which in my case do not go over incisi...

Hi I have only very recently joined this pacemaker club website. And in all honesty I really just stumbled across it (no offence to anyone) but anyway my only question is will I have to live with a pacemaker for my whole life or will I get a replacement heart?
Just to let you know I was born with a congenital heart defect and I had a hole in my heart and I hadon't some of the arteries (I think) in the wrong areas and sending blood to the wrong areas which meant I turned bl...

I am a 65-year old female. On August 15, 2016, I underwent surgery to receive my first pacemaker due to complete heart block, caused by Wenchebach Mobitz I. One week later, I experienced the onset of illness, and an echocardiogram revealed a small amount of fluid around my heart. This fluid level remained stable for several days, but then I had two acute instances of blacking out. It was determined that one of the pacemaker leads had penetrated my heart wall, causing b...

Hi,
It is 3 weeks since I had a single wire pacemaker fitted for SSS. I am pleased to say that I feel so much more alert while resting now and my energy levels have increased after the rate response setting was switched on. My scar has also healed up nicely so all in all I am feeling pretty pleased and blessed. My only niggle is that it is really uncomfortable when driving or I'm on the computer because the device seems to dig in when I bring my arms in front of me. Is this normal a...

Hello all,had my dual pacemaker installed yesterday, and a bit delicate today!I was just wondering how long it take's to start seeing the benifits? Also I was told that I was fluctuating between wenkebach and stage 3 before the pacemaker was installed which I found quite confusing as I though you would only be one or the other?Or it would've made more sense if it was stage 2 mobitz 2 and stage 3 swapping and changing and not stage 2 mobitz 1(wenkebach) Any advice would be greatly receiv...

Tomorrow marks 1 month after my pm surgery. I have found and old feeling I lost a long time ago.... boredom! I have not felt like doing anything for so long that I had forgotten what it is like to want to get out and do stuff. I have so many old feelings coming back and it is quite scary to think of how bad I felt before having my surgery. I am now realizing the problem must have been there longer than I even thought.
I was active with wal...

My dual lead Medtronic pacemaker is 4 months old and has slid one full inch towards my shoulder with the corner of the device sharply outlined through my skin. It looks as if the skin will soon tear. The area is sensitive to touch and I am frequently brushing against the device since it protrudes so far. Has anyone seen this happen? My concern is that the leads may become dislodged. I emailed a photo to my Electrophysiologist and am waiting for his respon...

I am three years into my first pacemaker - which means I am probably two to four years away from a replacement. (My interrogation a year ago indicated 3 and 1/2 years of battery life remaining.)
I know everyone says the replacement procedure is a walk in the park. I get that. My question is one of a more technical nature. If I am dependent on my pacemaker, and the pacemaker is unplugged to make way for the new pacemaker, what happens to my heart during...

I think maybe instead of chain saws the query was about that big noisy grinder that is used to grind up the limbs and branches. Could that be it?

Hi all. I'm new here. I'm 21 and had a pacemaker fitted on Friday. I have a dual chamber pacemaker. All is well at the moment, however ever since I've had the pacemaker fitted I've been experiencing daily flutterings in my chest. Very uncomfortable and they make me cough!
I told the pacemaker clinic and they checked my pacemaker on the machine and apparently all is well and it's only been used 1%. There was a recording on the pacemaker where my heart went to 16...
You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
