Ok so I'm 3 days post op,and I have little spells of breathlessness is this normal as it was only days ago? Also it feels a bit racy sometimes, this is all new to me so I don't know what to think?I've been told I have a bit more colour in my face so that's a positive,do symptoms get better with time and is it a gradual thing, regards Christian

Thankyou for your reply,it's helped put my mind at rest,I suppose it's not every day you have a pacemaker installed! Haha

Hi,
I am 3 weeks post op for my first pacemaker and have asked all the same questions you have but Members on this site has been brilliant at reassuring me! For the first 2 weeks I felt pretty awful but in this last week I have definitely noticed improvement in energy levels and alertness. The pain and discomfort around the pacemaker / arm are still there but I have been reassured that that is to be expected for at least a few more weeks yet. So, in short, from my limited experience the things you describe sound perfectly normal!
Hope that helps!
Breathlessness

Every person I have talked to in person and inclusive of myself, experienced some degree of breathless after the procedure. It took a couple of weeks to feel sort of right.

Normal

Your heart has to get used to pacing at a higher (normal) rate. It takes time. The better coloring in your face confirms your PM is working and your heart is circulating more oxygenated blood throughout your body, that's a good thing. :)
We are much more aware of our hearts now and how it beats so you notice more.
Give it time for you and your device to become acquainted. But of course, when in doubt.....call your doctor...but it sounds pretty normal.
