Hi sorry if this sounds trivial? Had pacemaker fitted 4 wk ago, have done everything they said about keeping wound clean etc and careful moving arm
problem I am finding difficult is what to wear ? Hospital just advised loose clothing so lots of front fastening shirts but would like some thoughts from you ladies about bras and t shirts you need to pull on over head? Any help appreciated! Thanks

Thank you Tammy! I will certainly try your tip about the shirt and see how I get on. The hospital was very keen to warn about lead displacement rather than positives!

With four weeks of healing behind you, there's very little need to worry about pulling the leads out. You can see the scar on the outside. Well, scars have formed on the inside too, keeping the leads in place.
Wear whatever is comfortable. Be gentle lifting your arm but don't try to avoid all movement. You don't want to get a "frozen" shoulder which can happen if you don't move your arm at all.

it really helps a lot to be able to talk about worries with someone who knows what it's like
thank you

I bought a loose fitting sport bra so the straps are wide, soft and with very little elastic. I bought some oversized round neck men t-shirts and have been wearing them. I have not driven since my PM was implanted a few weeks ago due to occasional dizziness - so I have been riding as the passenger. Last week with rode with some friends and I sat behind the driver. When we stopped I had to have hubby trade seats because the seat belt strap was both aggravating and agitating. I know it will get better with time, but I am far from being ready to try a bra.
You know you're wired when...

It's much better to live with a pacemaker than to risk your life without one.

I had mine put in 4 weeks ago also. I have been back to wearing my normal clothes from the get go. I just bend over a little and keep the shirt low as I can. I have just been careful on that side. Put the shirt on slow and just watch yourself.
As far as the bra I am very lucky because my strap isn't hitting the cut itself at all. I did order one of those seatbelt covers though they advertise on this site. It is ok. I am still tender in that area so sometimes it does hit me in the wrong way and I just move it over.
Good luck in you journey and nice to meet you.
