I had a pacemaker fitted about 6 months ago. Everything seemed fine. Last night I had what seemed to be an electric shock across the top of the pacemaker. Any ideas what this might be, and should I be concerned?

I have suddenly developed a shuffling gait. My GP assures me it is not Parkisonian and will disappear in time. I had a pacemaker fitted about six months ago and all has seemed fine. Is there any connection between the shuffling gait and my pacemaker?

Hi! I'm in avib so much when I feel the sinus rhythm it's almost like "whats that". I've had 3 ablations and a PM. I have Persistent left IVC and this last abaltion almost killed me; I was brought back twice. My avib was better but it's back now with a vengenace and I'm told my only option is an AV Node Ablation. I've decided to go to a Specialist in Boston to check out other options.
I'm 56 and a very positive person...

I had my dual chamber pacemaker implanted for SSS in February 2015. My atrium is paced at 100%. I had sudden cardiac arrest caused by vtach/vfib/asystolet due to hereditary arrhythmias In July, fortunately in the EP's waiting room. My EP is still amazed I survived 10 minutes of asystole and 10 minutes of vfib and 5 shocks before I regained a sustainable rhythm. I have recovered with no deficits or damage to any organs. Obviously the EP did perfect CPR and it...

Had a tough time with arrhythmias lately. Cardioverted April 8, again May 10. Ablation July 25 that didn’t hold. Then cardioverted again August 14, also didn’t hold.
Went to the doctor yesterday and they tried something different in the PM lab. They paced me out of the arrhythmia. My atrium was going at about 180 bpm’s. They sped up the atrium and then would shut it down to try and beak the circuit. They tried it several times moving the speed up each time. Finally at...

It has been on my mind that my cardiologist rush me into having a PM immediately following reading a 24 hour Holt monitor showing 11 - 12 second periods of no heart beat at rest but having no symptoms. I was taken by ambulance from his office and had surgery 3 hours later. Last night I talked with a doctor friend that also met my wife at the hospital before surgery to be with us. I felt that what she told me last night was good to share with others who may have reservations about having a dev...

Hi,
I am posting for my dad. He is 60 years old. Had a pacemaker surgery 6 motnhs back. His Ejection Fraction was dropped to 10-15%, thats why doctor suggested to get a pacemaker installed. Now after having pacemaker for 6 months, when his Ejection Fraction was tested again, its just 25%. Is it ok number? Doctor said its fine. But I somehow has my doubts. I think EF of 25% is very less after the surgery. What were your EF after surgery? Please enlighten me what can I do?
Thanks

I am getting ready to go on a short trip. I will be away from home three days. Is it absolutely necessary that I take my Medtronic bedside monitor with me? Or can I get away with not having it with me for that short of time? Thanks so much. We will be flying and I just did not want to pack it if I did not have to.

Hi Everyone
I have been feeling dizzy lately approx a week or so. I have felt like my eyes cannot focus or adjust to rapid movement of my head or like when watching TV. Tonight when on a walk it felt like the ground tipped and I had to catch myself. Could this be a pacemaker thing or vertigo. Should I be concerned or have others experienced this and it's just my body continuing to adjust.
I don't want to run to the Doctor every time I have a new sensation.

Merlin@home, you're so @toast, at last! Gross negligence is a criminal offense, indeed. So now as part of the acquisition of St.Jude by Abbott for $25B - we can all exhale as the dirty laundry comes out in public via Justine's report from MedSec (33 pages).

Have a dream and work towards it
It is important to have a dream because it will give you an area that should be focused on specifically. Having a dream is not enough, but it will help you stay motivated and move towards it with ease. Remember that having a Dream Is not enough if you do not work towards it.
So it is important to have a dream and even work towards it.

I will be needing to see my dentist soon for both cleaning and fillings and probably some x rays. Are there some precautions I or my dentist need to take? Thanks you all
