Mine was just placed on Tuesday and I'm wondering how long until I feel somewhat normal again. It's been so helpful reading posts from other people here.

I had my pm placed on 8/17/16 for bradycardia and sinus node dysfunction. I'm an active 60 year old woman. For the past few weeks I've been running about 15 miles a week and walking the dog about the same distance at a nice pace. I returned to kickboxing last week and have been lifting weights, although I am using lighter weights and avoiding chest and lifts over my head (only because I feel some pulling near the incision). I'm seeing my cardiologist today and will discuss that detail. Is been wonderful not having to worry about the constant dizzy spells and my activity level is nearing normal. Hoping to run another marathon -maybe next fall. I was so afraid of getting the pm but most of the time I forget it's even there.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.

Hey Peter Looks like yours was put in 3 days before mine. I understand we may have some discomfort for several months. Mine varies with my activities that day. Dizzy sometimes when I first stand up. I had never experienced that. Doesn't last long. Glad to have you. There are very informative folks on here that can help answer questions!
