Has anyone ever had to get a PM out of the clear blue sky?
Have been in good general health seeing a DR on a regular basis. All tests come back normal except for slight elevated blood pressure and was on blood pressure meds.
Went to work on Friday and I passed out, went to hospital and everything was normal was about to be discharged and blacked out again....heart flatlined admitted me...was transferred to a better hospital and flatlined 5 times during the next 12 hours...every time I flatlined my heart restarted by it self and from the graphs it just STOPS beating, no flutter no pre-signals it just STOPS. Had PM was inserted Saturday afternoon working as should, going in to have heart dye test done today Monday.
Question is, Has anyone had to get a PM out of the clear blue sky while being in good health?
Did your heart just do a dead stop? Like mine?
Prior to PM and multiple flatlines my heart started by itself after about 20 seconds, did yours?
After PM installed my heart stopping has gotten further apart. Did yours?

My situation was a little different than yours. I didn't flat-line. However, I was fine until one day I suddenly found myself in ICU. I got a PM the next day................I had just turned 38 years old the week before.
You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

Your story sounds exactly like mine. It came on over several years but I did not realize it. I had tests, tests, tests and more--but nothing showed up that was a worry and they just did not know why I was fainting. Like you I would always "come to" after a few seconds ,and Like you all tests were normal and I was in good health. This last year I began fainting more regularly especially during movement. They implanted a Linq monitor and three days later I passed out as I was turning to move a book.We sent the data in -got a call from my doctor to tell me my heart had stopped for 15 seconds and a Pacemaker was ordered. I was NOT happy and I cried as I was sure it was something else and could be fixed by changing something I was doing--but facing the facts as my doctor presented them told me this was necessary. My family, doctors all supported it and they were overjoyed to find out what it was as they had been worrying about me for a while!! :). I am three months from surgery. I feel I have not progressed as quickly as I should but I understand that each person will progress differently. Since the Pacemaker surgery. I have NOT passed out. Once in a while when I cough I have that old feeling like the passing out is coming on (and next week I will talk to my doctor about the coughing) but I have not passed out since. Good Luck!!! Sorry, I am so wordy.....
